However, it was on April 28, 2020, when Irrfan was admitted at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for colon infection and had passed away the very next morning. However, since then, his wife, Sutapa Sikdar and son, Babil Khan never skip a day without sharing something about Irrfan on their respective social media handles. Talking about his son, who is on the road of becoming a filmmaker, the young lad always shares the valuable lessons he had learnt from his father about cinema and life.
On October 4, 2020, late Bollywood actor, Irrfan Khan's son, Babil Khan took to his Instagram handle and shared an adorable picture from his childhood days with his father. In the picture, we can see late Irrfan Khan touching his little son's cheeks with sheer happiness and love. Along with this cutesy picture, Babil wrote a small note about a special memory from his time with his dad, Irrfan. The youngster talked about one of his obsessions and how it was his father, who had introduced him with it. His caption can be read as "Death is painful for the living, for those dearest to your heart, but you taught me that death is only the beginning. So I'm here celebrating your life in my mind, divine bitter-sweetness. I was listening to 'The Beatles' then you got me obsessed with 'The Doors', and we used to sing along. This isn't the first time when Babil has talked about his late father, as his Instagram handle is filled with his pictures and big notes about him. For instance, on September 24, 2020, the youngster had taken to his Instagram handle and had posted a beautiful photo from the memory lane with his father. In the picture, we could see a young Irrfan Khan holding a phone in his hands, and little Babil had looked curiously in the phone. Along with this picture, the doting son revealed that it's simply heartbreaking for him to accept the reality that his father is no longer with him. His painful caption could be read as "I slept for 14 hours and I didn't want to wake up cause I was dreaming about you. Waking up is the worst. I hate realising every day that you're gone. You didn't say anything, we just laughed. (He's playing the OG' bounce')" Take a look:
Irrfan had shared a warm and friendly relationship with his two sons, Babil and Ayaan. In a 2017 interview with a media portal, the legendary actor had revealed how he had reacted on seeing a 'love bite' on his son, Babil's neck! The 'daddy cool' had revealed his reaction on his son, Babil's love life. He had said, "My kids are very open with me. When I saw a love mark on his neck and confronted him about it, he said, 'no it's not that, it is a rash.' I said to him, Beta congratulations. (laughs)." He had further emphasised on the importance of making kids comfortable with sharing everything with parents.
Irrfan had talked about discussing intimate topics with kids and had said, "Just tell them (kids) it is natural. If you are not curious about it, then there is something wrong with you. If you are curious and want to explore, please go ahead, and this is the way life is. This is the best gift nature has given to you. Explore it. Explore it in a way that you don't hurt anybody. But, find its potential." In Irrfan's opinion, two people getting together is a wonderful thing if it is not made into a commodity. Irrfan had also shared his experience from when he was a teen and had cited that he was never embarrassed to discuss such things with his mother.
