Taking to his IG handle, Babil posted two pictures of a book owned by his father, Irrfan Khan. Replying to some comments on the same, he talked about his acting debut!
It might seem a little far-fetched, but sometimes, we wish to see some star kids fill in the shoes of their incredible parents. With the whole nepotism debate going on in Bollywood, it's kind of edgy to bring up the topic like this. However, it is not when we're talking about the legendary actor, Irrfan Khan. We all agree that neither there was nor there will be, an actor and performer like Irrfan Khan. But, we have to admit that some times the prospect of Irrfan Khan's son, Babil Khan, who's studying acting, filling up his shoes seems promising. And for the first time ever, Babil spoke about the same. Scroll down to know more! (Recommended Read: Mommy-To-Be Anushka Sharma Munches On A Delicious Sindhi Lunch, Shares Picture)
Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in March 2018 and had left for London for his treatment. He had returned later in February 2019 for the shoot of the film, Angrezi Medium, and had flown back to London for another surgery. He had returned to India in September 2019 and on April 28, 2020, the actor was admitted to Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital due to colon infection and was kept in ICU. On April 29, 2020, the actor had breathed his last.
Taking to his IG handle, Babil posted two pictures of a book owned by his father, Irrfan Khan. The book is titled 'Actors on Acting', and is edited by Toby Cole, and Helen Krich Chinoy. It also has Irrfan Khan's signature atop it. Babil captioned his post as "Up for lending." The book cover featured a handwritten note by the late actor, which read, "Irrfan. In New York for 'The Name Sake'." Lots of comments started pouring in on Babil's post. One of the users asked Babil if he has any plans of making his acting debut. Replying to the comment, Babil wrote, "I am already in the field of acting, when I will appear in a film is the question. Once I have graduated around May, I will start looking into offers." On Irrfan Khan's birth anniversary on January 7, 2020, Babil had shared an unseen video of his baba, where the family was seen face timing Babil. Along with the video, Babil had written, "You never identified with institutions such as contractual marriage and birthday celebrations. Perhaps, that is why I don't remember anyone's birthdays because you never remembered mine and never encouraged me to remember yours. It was just normal to us what seemed absurd from the outside, we celebrated every day (bringing personal experiential authenticity to the cliche). On the occasion, Mamma would have to remind us both; but this time I could not forget yours if I tried. It's your birthday Baba. Shoutout to all the technologically inept parents, notice that they did not finish saying that they miss me."
On November 24, 2020, Babil Khan had taken to his Instagram handle and had shared a hilarious and beautiful video of his late father and legendary actor, Irrfan Khan. In the video, we could see Irrfan's sons, Babil and Ayaan along with his wife, Sutapa Sikdar. While Babil and Sutapa were walking together, Ayaan had fallen in the trap of his father's camera trick, as he had thought that his abba was taking pictures. Soon the camera had come right in front of his face and his brother, Babil had a burst of laughter. Later, Ayaan had realised that he was tricked by his dad once again. Along with this video, Babil had written a caption, and it could be read as "Baba used to think it was still very funny to record videos when he said he'd take a picture, and Ayaan was always the last one to realise it.
