A backup dancer from Diljit Dosanjh's Dil-Luminati tour in Europe pulled out, due to the singer's team's mismanagement, unprofessionalism and non-payment issues.
Diljit Dosanjh has been riding high in his professional front. The singer-actor has already left everyone mesmerised with his acting skills in the movie, Amar Singh Chamkila. Soon after, Diljit has been winning hearts with his Dil-Luminati tour all over the world. The singer was in the headlines for the high price of the tickets during his Indian leg of the Dil-Luminati tour. And now, one of the stage dancers has called out Diljit's team for mismanagement and non-payment issues.
Shilpa Sajan, one of the stage dancers for the Dil-Luminati tour of Diljit Dosanjh in Eupore, has taken to her IG handle and issued a statement, wherein she revealed pulling out from the opportunity to showcase her skill at the singer's Europe concert. In a picture note, she revealed that she was approached by Diljit's team, and although she was aware of the outrage over Diljit's team's mismanagement and non-payment issues, she said yes to the same, thinking it would be a highlight of her career.
On the same note, Shilpa mentioned that she was told that it would be a paid collaboration, and later, they found out that they were paid 80 pounds, excluding travel, accommodation, and as well as international travel, which the dancers had to cover on their own. The backup dancer shared that despite all of these, they were promised that it would be incredible, but it was the unprofessional behaviour and mismanagement, that then made her decide to move out from this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Shilpa Sajan further revealed that their messages would be ignored, there was no emphasis on the rehearsals, dancers were cut without a proper explanation, and everything was left for the last minutes, which even reflected on the stage. Shilpa then added that it's disturbing how dancers get treated like objects despite working hard on their part. The caption from Shilpa's post can be read as:
"An opportunity I was super excited about, but the dance industry has shown its true colours once again. Riddled with unprofessionalism, egos, total disrespect for dancers and being told “that’s just how Indians work”. No celebrity is worth giving up your self-respect @diljitdosanjh."
The ticket price for Diljit Dosanjh's Indian tour was kept between Rs. 20 to 25 thousand, which left a lot of netizens angry. One of the influencers, Saumya Sahni slammed the singer and asked how could he keep the price of the tickets so high in the current Indian economy. She also pointed out how Diljit's core fans belong to the middle class, and thus, the singer must have thought once before keeping the ticket prices so high, as he has been earning really well overseas.

Diljit Dosanjh's manager earlier revealed that the singer's North American concert has brought them a revenue of 28 million USD, i.e., Rs. 234 crore. Well, talking about the singer's net worth, it's reportedly around Rs. 172 crore, and the massive sources of his income are, acting, singing, brand endorsements, and concerts.
