Popular Bollywood rapper, Badshah has once again grabbed attention after his shoutout to India’s Got Latent host, Samay Raina, during a recent concert. Amid various controversies about the show making rounds on social media, Badshah chose a public platform at Vadodara’s Parul University to voice his support for the YouTuber, leaving the audiences roaring with cheer.
Badshah was recently invited to perform at Parul University in Vadodara, Gujarat. A video from the electrifying concert has now taken social media to storm, wherein the rapper is seen giving a shoutout to Samay Raina. Towards the end of his performance, Badshah was heard saying:
“I love you, Parul University. Thank you so much. Free Samay Raina!”
After Badshah’s shoutout to Samay, the audience present at the concert exploded with cheers in support of the rapper. His statement comes at a time when Samay Raina has been facing severe backlash following a controversial joke made by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia on his show India’s Got Latent. As soon as the video surfaced online, it set social media abuzz, with netizens resharing the clip on their respective handles. One user took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Ain’t no way Badshah just said ‘Free Samay Raina’ at the concert! LFG!!!”

Hosted by comedian and YouTuber, Samay Raina, often referred to as the ‘King of Dark Comedy,’ the show has previously faced criticism for some of its content, which many viewers found problematic or offensive. The latest episode, which featured influencers and creators such as Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija on the judges’ panel, sparked massive outrage across the nation.
The controversy erupted when an episode of India’s Got Latent featured Ranveer Allahbadia posing a crass ‘would you rather’ question about parental intimacy to a contestant. The comment, perceived as distasteful and offensive, sparked outrage across social media, leading to police complaints against Ranveer, Samay, and fellow judges, Ashish, Jaspreet, and Apoorva. Ranveer’s question was:
"Would you rather watch your parents have s** for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?"
In response to the growing backlash, Samay Raina deleted all India’s Got Latent videos from his YouTube channel and issued a statement, expressing that the situation had become ‘too much to handle’. The YouTuber’s statement, which he uploaded on his social media handles, read:
"Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly."
Like many in the industry, Badshah shares a strong professional rapport with Samay Raina. He previously appeared as a guest on an episode of India’s Got Latent and also collaborated with Samay and Raftaar on the music video for Baawe.
