Bangladeshi bride, Shompa performed a stunning dance number in one of the Bollywood songs at her 'mehendi' ceremony. However, she was brutally body-shamed for her outfit and dance.
A bride goes through a lot while preparing for her wedding day. Amidst all, she finalises the outfits, decor and theme which match her personality. But while keeping a tab on everything that makes a wedding worth mentioning, the bride also gets stress and anxiety. Despite that, she maintains a huge smile to look good during the functions and in the pictures, which will always be treasured. And if in this position, a bride is body-shammed or trolled for her figure or clothes, it is quite disheartening. Something similar happened with the content creator, Shompa, who recently got married to her Pakistani groom.
Bangladeshi bride, Shompa recently got married to her Pakistani groom and taking to her IG handle, she shared an array of pictures and videos from her wedding and pre-wedding ceremonies. In one of the videos, she was seen giving a sneak peek into her beautiful dance, which she dedicated to her husband. She was seen dancing to the song, Anarkali Disco Chali, wearing a stunning 10 kg lehenga. In addition, what melted our hearts was her husband was seen enjoying her dance to the fullest and beautifully reacting to it.

As soon as the video was posted, netizens started fat-shaming the bride. Some also asked her if she was pregnant when she got married, and a few gave some unsolicited advice on how she could shed some weight. However, Shompa didn't keep her mouth shut and posted another video to call out these so-called faceless trolls. She also tried her best to uplift other women who’ve been through a similar situation. She can be heard saying:
"So yesterday I posted a video of myself dancing for my mehendi, and ofcourse I had to get body shamed saying how am I not embarassed with my stomach hanging out a little bit because I had a wardrobe malfunction or that they've seen my stomach dance more than me. So first of all, I'm not embarassed because you know why I killed that performance, I was confident, I was beautiful you know why mainly I was dancing for my husband, I looked amazing. This was my day and if you think these comments make me upset, girl I've been getting fat shamee by my mother since I was 11."
