Bengali Brides Who Dazzled In Sabyasachi Mukherjee's Traditional Attires On Their Wedding

Let us have a look at some of the Bengali brides who carried off their bridal attire from the Sabyasachi collection with great poise on their wedding day.

And, needless to say, every girl dreams to wear bridal outfits from the ace designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee's collection. After all, it is her big day and all the eyes are going to be on her.

A wedding indicates a significant change in the life of a traditional Indian woman. And for a Bengali bride, the sarees or the lehengas paired with mukut and dupatta over the head, chandan bindi art on her forehead, shakha pola, and gachkouto (a wooden tall container filled with vermillion dust) which she carries in her hand, had been the symbol of Bengali bridal customs and traditions from time immemorial. #1. Bride who donned a crimson red saree

Bengali bride, Kinkinee Ghosh, had donned a crimson-red traditional Bengali style saree from Sabyasachi Mukherjee's collection. She had married the love of her life, Ramitendra Ray in Kolkata, West Bengal. The bride had accentuated her look with a matching red dupatta, which she had pinned on her head. She had accessorised her look with a golden neckpiece, a nath, a butterfly-motif mathapatti, and bangles. On the other hand, her groom had kept his look subtle in a beige kurta with dhoti.

#2. Bride who slayed in a traditional 'laal' saree

The Bengali bride, Komolika Mitra from Kolkata, had worn a bright red traditional, Sabyasachi Mukherjee saree for her wedding day! She had paired the look with a heavy gold necklace, a matha-patti, a nath, and earrings. However, being a Bengali bride, Komolika had flaunted her traditional shankha pola and white mukut on her head with grace and elegance. And her groom, Srinjoy Das had dressed in golden sherwani and orange dhoti with motif work. He had styled it with a doshala and a white topor, which is a Bengali style headgear, worn by the grooms. The bride and the groom had also got mehendi designs on their hands. However, what made it so special was that the groom had got the initials of his wife’s name designed on his forearm. 

#3. Bride who recreated Anushka Sharma’s Benarasi saree

A Bengali bride, Madhumita Ghosh had opted to wear the same tomato red and gold Sabyasachi Saree worn by actress, Anushka Sharma on her wedding reception. Madhumita had let her attire take over the grandeur and had kept the rest of her look pretty simple, which was breathtaking. Madhumita had donned two-layered, green, and golden neckpieces and a matching maang teeka on her head.

#4. Bride who opted for a magenta lehenga on her D-Day

The bride, Anupriya Paul, had opted for a ruby lehenga for her big day and mesmerised us with her amazing look! The lehenga was designed with intricate embroidery work done all over it by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. She had paired the wedding outfit with glittery brownish smokey eyes, thick lashes, defined brows, blushed cheeks, and glossy maroon lips. The bride had worn a choker along with a heavy neckpiece adorned with green coloured stones and white stones and had paired it with jhumkas, maang teeka, and bangles. She had looked nothing less than a royal bride! Her groom had worn a baby pink coloured sherwani, which was self-embroidered with silver thread.

A saree from time immemorial defines an Indian woman's identity. And a red saree is an all-time favourite for traditional brides on their wedding day. But today’s women are preferring to wear pastel-hued attires for their day. In the same way, the Bengali bride, Ishadrita Lahiri had donned a pink coloured saree for her wedding. She had teamed it with a rose pink coloured blouse and a matching dupatta. Along with Ishadrita’s subtle makeup, pink lips, and a red bindi, she had accentuated her look with chaandbaalis, a nath, a matching maang teeka, shakha pola, and two heavy gold necklaces.

For her wedding, the Bengali bride, Rishika Das Roy had worn a bright red-coloured saree from ace designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Her saree was designed with intricate floral embroidery and she had paired it with a half-sleeved blouse of the same fabric. The bride had pinned a red netted dupatta over her head. To complement her look, she had worn a heavy gold necklace with red beads and matching earrings, and a nath. She had also added a maang teeka at the parting of her hair. For her wedding, Rishika had preferred to keep her makeup look minimal with a brown lip shade and kohl-rimmed, smoky eyes, and chandan design on her forehead.

Each Bengali bride's picture was filled with elegance and grace! Sabyasachi’s comfortable, yet elegant-looking wedding outfits surely sprinkled some magic, and all the brides looked like royal princesses on their special day.
