In the latest update on the Bengaluru suitcase murder case, the accused revealed speaking to his wife's body after killing her.
The Bengaluru suitcase murder case has shocked the nation as people are in disbelief with the latest reports coming in. The 36-year-old techie, Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar, who brutally killed his wife, Gouri Anil Sambrekar, on the fateful night of March 26, 2025, was arrested near Pune. In the initial investigation, it has been stated that the accused tried many ways to mislead the case.
The recent investigations also stated that Rakesh stuffed Gauri into the suitcase while she was still alive. After a fight, when Gauri took the kitchen knife, Rakesh grabbed the knife and stabbed her twice. While she fell unconscious, Rakesh stuffed her inside the suitcase and tried to carry the suitcase out, but the handle broke.
As per the reports of the Times of India, throughout the investigation, Rakesh acted as if he was mentally disturbed, but the police authorities felt it was just to mislead them. As per a senior official:
“Rakesh appears to be acting as if he is mentally disturbed, but we suspect otherwise. He is perfectly fine and is just trying to gain sympathy by acting abnormal. He is misleading police. It appears he brought her to Bengaluru with a plan to kill her.”
When a police officer tried to speak to him, he acted disturbed and even told him that he spoke to his wife’s body after killing her. Rakesh confessed that his wife was dominating and also developed some differences with his parents. When he brought her to Bengaluru, she couldn’t find a job, so they started having fights. Rakesh claimed that after killing Gauri, he sat next to her body and asked her why she picked up fights with him.
He dropped the plan of carrying the suitcase out and moved it near the bathroom. He locked the house and sped to Pune. On his way, he called Gauri’s brother and informed him about the murder. Her brother alerted the local police in Maharashtra. He then called the tenant and landlord and informed them that Gauri had committed suicide. When the cops arrived at the scene and forced open the door, they could not find anybody hanging, but they did find Gauri’s body in the suitcase.
