Ashneer Grover and Madhuri Jain, who were travelling to New York, were stopped at the Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi. The former BharatPe co-founder opened up about the same.
BharatPe co-founder, Ashneer Grover and wife, Madhuri Jain made headlines after they were stopped at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The couple were travelling to New York, but a lookout circular (LoC) was issued earlier this week against them by the Economic Offence Wing. As soon as the news circulated on the internet, Ashneer shared his side of the story and confirmed the same in his own sassy way.
For those who don't know, Grover and his wife, Madhuri Jain, allegedly siphoned off funds from the fintech unicorn on the pretext of offering recruitment services, according to a preliminary report of an investigation by the Economic Offences Wing. Ashneer took to the social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), and revealed that he was planning to go to the US from November 16 to 23. His note can be read as:
"Hello ! Hello ! Kya chal raha hai India mein ? Filhaal to Ashneer stopped at airport chal raha hai janab. So facts: 1. I had not received any communication or summon from EOW since FIR in May till 8 AM today 17 morning (7 hours after returning from airport). 2. I was going to US from 16-23 November."

Further in his note, Ashneer revealed that this incident came as a shock as he had travelled out of India; this concern had never been raised, and he had not even been summoned once. He concluded the note by stating that people can publish whatever they want to. He wrote:
"I found it strange as have travelled 4 times internationally since FIR filed in May - never been a problem and I had not even been summoned once 5. Flight left in meantime anyways - EOW folks directed Immigration to let us out so that we can return home 6. Today morning EOW summon was home delivered - will cooperate as always No drama. LOC hatane ka process hai - I am not a flight risk - easy to prove hai. Baaki aapko jo chhaapna hai chhaapo. Picture chal rahi hai free mein - maze lo ! Baaki premature obituaries bahut baari log likh chuke hai - ‘Jatt mareya tad maniye jad terami howe’ ! Don’t pronounce me dead till 13 days after you’ve burned me at the pyre!"
After his stint in the first season of Shark Tank India, Ashneer went through a rough phase as he was stripped of all the positions from his company, BharatPe. According to reports, BharatPe registered a complaint against Grover and his family in December 2022. The company's co-founders, Bhavik Koladiya and Shahvat Nakrani, filed a complaint against Grover for a share dispute.
For the unversed, Ashneer had left his position as the managing director of the company, BharatPe after being accused of misusing the funds of BharatPe.
