In a recent interview with Rajat Sharma on his iconic show, 'Aap Ki Adalat', Bhojpuri superstar, Ravi Kishan revealed the demands that made him lose out on a role in 'Gangs of Wasseypur'.
Whenever we talk about Indian cinema, there are tons of films that have created an impact on people’s lives over the decades. While some films inspired a generation to challenge their inner demons, some questioned the societal norms and a few managed to engrave a mark in the minds of audiences. One such film is Gangs of Wasseypur, directed by Anurag Kashyap. The film not only gave actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Manoj Bajpayee, Pankaj Tripathi, Piyush Misra, and Richa Chadha tremendous stardom and recognition but also taught a lot to other filmmakers about the art of storytelling and direction.
However, not everyone is aware of the astonishing fact that when Anurag Kashyap was working on the cast of Gangs of Wasseypur, he came across Bhojpuri superstar, Ravi Kishan and wanted him to be a part of his film. However, due to Ravi Kishan’s two completely strange demands, he rejected the idea of signing him for the film.

In a recent appearance on Rajat Sharma’s famous talk show, Aap Ki Adalat, Bhojpuri superstar, Ravi Kishan was asked about the speculations that he was offered a role in Anurag Kashyap’s iconic film, Gangs of Wasseypur. However, when the actor was asked why he didn’t work with Anurag in the film then, answering this, Ravi Kishan revealed that he made some unusual demands to work in the film, Gangs of Wasseypur, which Anurag didn’t accept, and that’s how he lost a role in the iconic film. When Rajat told Ravi to open up about his demands, the Bhojpuri actor shared that they were quite unreasonable and admitted that he was at the peak of his stardom then and lost it all then.
While opening up about his demands, Ravi Kishan revealed that he demanded 25 litres of milk every day in order to bathe and wanted a bed full of red roses to sleep in. When the Bhojpuri actor shared his two major demands with the film’s director, Anurag Kashyap clearly said a ‘Big No’ to the actor. Nor did the film’s director have much budget at the time, and neither he considered them as necessary demands, which was why he rejected Ravi Kishan. Opening up about the same, Ravi Kishan admitted that his demands in front of Anurag were unrealistic and needless. The actor admitted that it was a mistake. He said:
"Gangs of Wasseypur film mein humein liye nahi kyunki woh bole kaun layega 25 litre doodh roz, aur kaun nehlayega. Mera nuksaan bhi hua. Phir yeh sab chhod diye. Achanak jab aap fakiriyat se aate hain aur kuch paa lete hain aur aap chakachaund… Bambai mayanagri hai bahut badi, aapko paglaane mein time nahi lagta."
