Bhushan Kumar clarified that he and his wife, Divya Khossla were nowhere close to divorce, a rumour which sparked intensely after the latter changed her surname.
Bhushan Kumar is a pioneer name in the Hindi playback music industry in Bollywood. Son of musical giant, late Gulshan Kumar, the 46-year-old producer is the managing director of T-Series, the iconic music label of our country. Despite being such a notable persona through his professional identity, Bhushan prefers to keep himself away from unnecessary spotlight. On the other hand, his wife, Divya Khossla has established herself as a talented actress in films, who continually leaves everyone in awe of her beauty and performances.
Sometime earlier this year, reports were rife that Bhushan Kumar and his wife, Divya Khossla might have hit a rough patch in their marital life and would soon be considering divorce as the ultimate option. For the unversed, it all happened when Divya dropped her husband’s surname, ‘Kumar’ from her name on all her social media handles. Later on, the duo’s respective spokespersons dismissed such false news and clarified that Divya did it based on astrological reasons.

And now, during an interaction with Zoom TV for the promotion of the film, Srikanth, Bhushan shed some more light on the matter. Being his shy self, while the music composer didn’t initially want the conversation to shift from the film to his personal life, he did eventually open up about it and said:
“Not here because we are talking about the film (Srikanth). But nothing of that thing has happened. We have always cleared it also. She had also cleared it. It is just that astrological reason, she wanted (to change). I don’t follow but she follows.”
Previously, after speculations of Divya and Bhushan’s divorce garnered a whirlwind on the internet, the former’s team was quick to issue a clarificatory statement, citing how a trivial matter had been blown out of proportions. The actress’ team remarked that Divya not only dropped ‘Kumar’ from her name, but also added an extra ‘s’ to her name, solely due to astrological predictions. The report further mentioned:
“Divya Khossla's choice to drop her married surname, driven by astrological beliefs, is a personal decision and should be respected. The addition of an 's' to her maiden surname, symbolising her astrological belief, is for the same thought."

Previously, during one of her candid chats with News18 Showsha, Divya Khossla opened up about what it meant to be the wife of such a huge music giant, who is quite literally the very force behind the uplifted status of playback singing in our country. In retrospect, Divya stated how she never depended on her husband when it came to work, citing that it had always been her choice and decision. Nevertheless, she credited Bhushan Kumar for always supporting her wholeheartedly.
