In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Bobby Deol opened up about his journey in the Hindi film industry. He mentioned how people used to compliment his looks, but this hasn't helped him in the long run. He further complimented his elder son, Aryaman Deol, for his looks but added that no one knows what would happen in future. Bobby said:
"When I was going to make my Bollywood debut, people used to say the same things to me, that he is good looking and he will be a superstar. But I know the reality. It doesn't matter what you look like, if viewers want to see you they will. Nobody knows what's gonna happen in the future. Definitely, his good looks are a plus point, and I am very proud of it, but there is no guarantee about what's gonna happen in this industry."
Further in the conversation, Bobby talked about the importance of education. He mentioned that Aryaman is pursuing business management, and the doting father wants his son to complete his studies before becoming an actor. Bobby added:
"I wanted my kids to complete their education first. My son is studying business management. I want him to complete his education and make up his mind so that even if he fails in the film industry, he can do something else. So it is very important for youngsters who can afford to complete their education, before becoming an actor because I am an example, I went through that being a star's son."

"If that's how it feels!! Being 49 was amazing, 50 is going to be even better. I reminiscence the life experiences I have been through and how they have made me grow as an individual. Finding a friend in his young father. I hope to continue living my life happily with all of your loved ones. I have turned 50 but I'm still always going to be the twenty-something young adult all set to win the world- Love Love Love to all."
