The masterclass performance of the cast left everyone going gaga over the movie, and there's no second thought about it. Moreover, Bobby Deol's comeback to the screens and his exceptional acting prowess became the talk of the town. In the movie, Bobby's entry with the song, Jamal Kudu left the Internet berkserk. Mumtaz's niece and Jamal Kudu singer, Shahnaaz Randhawa reacts to the massive success of the song

In an interview with the senior film journalist and editor, Chaitanya Padukone, Mumtaz's niece, Shahnaaz Randhawa reacted to the Iranian song, Jamal Kudu being super-viral. The music-savvy walked down memory lane and recalled how her grandmother used to sing the original Iranian version of this song when she was a kid, which is why she is well familiar with the song. Shahnaaz said:

"Both my grandparents belong to Iran and my grandma used to sing the original version of this same Jamaloo Kudu, Iranian song ever since I was a little kid. Since then, I know this song very well."

In Jamal Kudu, we have how it started with clapping to the beats. Talking about the same style, Mumtaz's niece, Shahnaaz Randhawa, shared that this is how the traditional Iranian folk songs are sung, wherein the rhythmical finger-snapping and clappings are a part of it, which is done to make it sound extra catchy. Sharing details about the same, Shahnaaz stated:

"Almost every year we visit Iran and I am very familiar with their catchy traditional Iranian folk-music which also has rhythmic clapping as well as fingers-snapping. Over the years, some of our other Indian composers have also been inspired by catchy Iranian tunes."

Going further in the interview, Shahnaaz Randhawa revealed how several composers were influenced by several Iranian tunes. She also heaped praise on Sandeep Reddy Vanga's movie, Animal and the masterclass performance of the cast. Going forward, she also revealed how the remixed Iranian song, Jamal Kudu was a cherry on the top of the movie. Talking more about the same, Shahnaaz mentioned:

"Actually, the sensational Pakistani retro-song Hawa Hawa Ae Hawa (1987) is also inspired from Iranian singer Kourush Yaghmaei's Havar Havar (1970). Must say, Animal has sterling performances by both Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol and both the heroines Rashmika and Tripti . But the musical cherry on 'showman' Sandeep Reddy Vanga's blockbuster Animal movie cake is the brilliantly picturised remixed Iranian song. Am not surprised that this song has gone super-viral . Yeh toh hona hee thha."

What is the meaning of the Iranian song, Jamal Kudu?

As per several resources online, the Iranian song, Jamal Kudu was composed by Iran's Hazareh Group, and it is an adaptation of a poem written by Iranian poet, Bijan Smander. In the movie, the song was composed by Harshavardhan Rameshwar. In the choir, along with Mumtaz's niece, there were Shabina, Abhikya, Aishwarya, and Meghna Naidu, among others. When Bobby Deol talked about his famous dance step in the song, Jamal Kudu

Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Spy, Bobby Deol shared that he was clueless about how he should perform on it. He went on to add that he added a twist in his steps, which has a touch of his childhood memories, where he and his friends used to keep a glass on their heads after getting drunk and keep on dancing. Moreover, he also expressed his joy to the overwhelming responses to this song.
