We have often seen celebrities, not only being actors or singers but also owning multiple businesses. They prefer to invest their money and start their own venture or being a partner of any business. From clothing lines to fitness stations, having cricket teams to kabbadi teams, B-town stars know how to make the most out of their money. And amongst them are those, who have invested their funds in the food and hospitality sector and own expensive restaurants and clubs.

Here is the list of 10 celebrities, who are the owners of expensive restaurants and clubs and have a successful career as a restaurateur.

#1. Jacqueline Fernandez’s Restaurants, Kaema Sutra and Pali Thai

The Srilankan beauty, Jacqueline Fernandez has two restaurants. In 2017, the actress had opened her first-ever restaurant in the capital of Srilanka, Colombo. The restaurant is called Kaema Sutra and is in a 5-star hotel, Shangri-La. The menu of the restaurant is a collaboration between the actress and celebrity chef, Dharshan Munidasa.

Later, in 2018, Jacqueline had opened a Thai restaurant in the suburbs of Mumbai, named Pali Thali in association with her best friend, Mishali Sanghani and star architect, Ashiesh Shah. However, the restaurant had failed to meet customer expectations and was later shut.

#2. Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s Restaurant, Bastian

Shilpa Shetty Kundra is not just a great actress, dancer or Instagrammer, but also a businesswoman as she is the co-owner of Bastian chain of restaurants in Mumbai. She had acquired a 50 per cent stake in Bastian Hospitality in 2019. It is a luxurious restaurant with huge chandeliers, vaulted ceiling, wooden accents, and furniture matching the restaurant's colour scheme. The place looks regal, spread in 8000 sqft property, and is one of the most loved places by the Bollywood celebrities.

#3. Juhi Chawla’s Restaurant, Rue Du Liban

Juhi Chawla and her husband and businessman, Jay Mehta own a lavish restaurant named Rue Du Liban. The property is established in 3,200 square foot with Art Deco-inspired interiors, closely set tables and burgundy banquettes. For the sense of intimacy, the restaurant has decorative things like custom lamps, brass work and hand-painted olive leaves on green walls. The low lights ensure a cosy vibe.

#4. Chunky Panday’s Restaurant, The Elbo Room

The actor-comedian, Chunky Panday had launched a bar called The Elbo Room, an Italian bistro. The place offers an array of exotic cocktails and has a very lively, college kind of feel to it with wooden furniture and chalk drawings. Every Tuesday night, the bar offers live music and BBQ and is one of the most popular hang-out places for the B-town celebrities.

#5. Perizaad Zorabian’s Restaurant, Gondola

Gondola restaurant was started by Perizaad Zorabian’s father, Khoram Zorabian in 1975. At that time, it was a small restaurant, which was later renovated and owned by the actress. The multi-cuisine restaurant is known for its Indian, Seafood, Chinese and its mouth-watering sizzlers and refreshing cocktails.

#6. Priyanka Chopra’s Restaurant, Sona

Priyanka Chopra Jonas might have moved out of India but desiness is never going to leave her side. While she is balancing her life between Hollywood and Bollywood and had turned author too, she has also become a restaurateur. Yes, Peecee owns an Indian restaurant, named Sona in New York, which was launched on March 26, 2021. The restaurant's front dining area has a hand-plastered wall with dots as a homage to women in rural parts of the country, India, whereas the rest of the walls are hand-done, inspired by the pink tones of Art Deco Mumbai.

#7. Asha Bhosle’s Restaurant, Asha’s

Asha Bhosle is the melody queen and we believe the way her voice gives calm to our soul, the same way her restaurant heals people. The singer had launched her restaurant named Asha’s in UAE’s Dubai in 2002. The aim to start this restaurant was to serve Indian spices and food on an international platform. The restaurant has now been opened in Kuwait and Birmingham, the UK for NRIs. She also plans to have more branches across the Middle East. Her restaurant in Dubai had won the Restaurant of the Year (India) Middle East Hospitality Excellence Award in 2016.

#8. Suniel Shetty’s Club, H20- The Liquid Lounge

Suniel Shetty has some great work in his bag as an actor, but that was just not enough for him. He entered and tried his hands at the food business in the 2000s and since then his club and restaurant is working great. His club name is H2O- The Liquid Lounge and is a luxury club, offering a lavish dining experience. With red and blue lights and an open dining area with white furniture, it oozes out a luxurious experience.

#9. Dharmendra’s Restaurant, Garam Dharam Dhaba

Dharmendra is known for his charismatic look and charm that can still make anyone’s heart flutter. He had launched a theme restaurant inspired by him and his films in 2015. The franchise, Garam Dharam Dhaba is co-owned by Umang Tewari and Mickey Mehta. Dharmendra is not just the partner in the venture but also the brand ambassador with its chain in Noida, Ghaziabad, Murthal in Haryana and Connaught Place in Delhi. The place gives you a modern village dhaba feels and the walls are decorated with Dharmendra's iconic movie posters and his timeless dialogues. The chain is a tribute to Dharmendra and is best known for its delicious North Indian food.

#10. Arjun Rampal’s Lounge Bar And Restaurant, LAP

Arjun Rampal had entered the food and hospitality business in August 2009, when he had launched a luxury nightclub named LAP. This is a members-only club, lounger bar and restaurant, which is a part of a Hotel Samrat in Chanakyapuri. The bar and restaurant offer lavish, golden and black interiors, a luxurious setting and a perfect ambience for party lovers. The Discotheques and the music make it for an ultra-elite nightclub. The interiors and furniture of this lounge are done by none other than Shah Rukh Khan’s wife, Gauri Khan and designer, Rohit Bal.
