According to the latest reports, the Bombay High Court has rejected businessman, Raj Kundra's plea to challenge his illegal arrest and remand in alleged connection with the pornography case.
On July 23, 2021, the crime branch had raided Bollywood actress, Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband, Raj Kundra's bungalow in Juhu to investigate his alleged involvement in the pornography case. The businessman was arrested by the police on July 19, 2021, and was also taken to his home during the raid. During the search, police had also recorded Shilpa Shetty's statement.
Now, after 18 days of Raj Kundra's arrest, big news regarding this case is out in public from the side of Bombay High Court, and it isn't an uplifting one for the fans and well-wishers of Raj. According to the latest reports, the court has rejected businessman, Raj Kundra's plea to challenge his illegal arrest and remand in alleged connection with the pornography case.

On August 7, 2021, the Bombay High Court announced a huge decision going forward in the adult film case, as the court rejected Raj Kundra's plea against his illegal arrest and demand in alleged involvement in the pornography case. A similar plea was also filed in the High Court by the co-accused, Ryan Thorpe. However, the Bombay High Court has rejected both the petitions, and Justice Ajay Gadkari stated that the arrest on July 19 was under law provisions. However, a detailed verdict from the Bombay High Court will be made public in due course.
The Chief Public Prosecutor, Aruna Rai, had also stated that 68 pornographic movies had been seized by the Mumbai Police so far from the accused. Adding mobile phones, laptops, and 51 video clips found on the SAN (storage area network). She had also added that both Raj Kundra and his associate, Ryan Thorpe, were destroying all the incriminating content from their devices. As a result, police had arrested them in order to save evidence from getting destroyed by them.

On August 2, 2021, Raj Kundra's actress-wife, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, had taken to her IG handle and had shared an official statement on her husband's arrest for the first time. Reacting to the rumours and accusations against Raj in an alleged pornography case, Shilpa had penned a strong statement that could be read as "My statement. Yes! The past few days have been challenging, on every front. There have been a lot of rumours and accusations. A lot of unwarranted aspersions on me cast by the media and (not so) well wishers as well."
Going further in her statement, Shilpa Shetty Kundra had clearly mentioned that she isn't going to present her stand in this case because she is well aware of the fact that this case is sub judice. As a result, she cannot talk about it in public. Her note had continued, "A lot of trolling/questions posed… not only to me but also to my family. MY STAND… I HAVE NOT COMMENTED YET, and will continue to refrain from doing so on this case as it is sub judice, so please stop attributing false quotes on my behalf."

Raj Kundra was booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays).
