Recently, film producer Boney Kapoor reminisced about his bond with his late wife, Sridevi. He confessed that he may feel an attraction to other women, but he will love Sridevi till the day he dies.
Boney Kapoor and Sridevi's whirlwind love story feels like it was lifted straight out of the script of a Bollywood movie. Passion, betrayal, and eventually lifelong commitment — the couple experienced it all, revelling in the joy of being together and weathering every storm side by side. After spending over two decades together, Boney and Sridevi's story came to a tragic end when the legendary actress passed away on February 24, 2018. Recently, the film producer opened up about his deep love for his late wife, which would never diminish even if he felt attracted to other women.
Boney Kapoor recently sat for a heartfelt chat with ABP Life, during which he reminisced about the love of his life, Sridevi. The film producer's devotion to his late wife was evident as he proclaimed that he would 'be in love with her till his dying day. Boney further gushed about the happiness of knowing that 'the most sought-after beauty' had chosen him to spend the rest of her life. He said:
"We were inseparable. I was in love with her, I am in love with her, and I will be in love with her till my dying day… When the most sought-after beauty, when the most sought-after personality becomes convinced to spend the rest of her life with you, what greater joy could there be? I never cheated on her, I never had to look here or there. She was my everything."
Boney Kapoor sadly said goodbye to the woman of his dreams, Sridevi, in 2018. However, his love for her remains strong to this day. In fact, the film producer told ABP Live that even if he felt attracted to other women, his passion for Sridevi would never fade. Boney can be quoted as saying:
"Even today, I may have (female) friends, I may get attracted to females around me, but as far as she's concerned, the passion and love will never go away."
Further in the interview, Boney Kapoor opened up about how relationships change over time. According to the film producer, partners may have their guard up in the early years of a marriage. However, those walls gradually came down as the trust between them grew. He further noted that while it was true that opposites attract, 'temperamentally opposite people' grew closer each day.
Boney elaborated that as time passed, partners learnt more about each other. They also better understood one another. However, the producer pointed out that it was natural for things to change as a couple spent year after year together. Talking about the seven-year itch, Boney said:
"You learn so many things about your partner over the journey. You learn to become careful about not doing things they don't like. Both sides grow to understand each other. I'm a north Indian Punjabi, Sri was from the south… Initially, everything is flowery; you want to do anything for her. But especially after seven years, you truly get to know your partner; their likes and dislikes. They feel that they have the freedom to truly express themselves. For the first seven years, they just bear everything, but after seven years, especially after the kids are older and the women realise they have more power over you, then they reveal their true feelings."
