Assamese actress, Aimee Baruah beautifully represents her traditional muga silk 'mekhela sador' at the Cannes Film Festival 2024.
Indians are making an impact in the Cannes Film Festival like no other. We started off strong with Urvashi Rautela, who stunned everyone with her classy sartorial pick at the opening ceremony. Next, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan dropped our jaws on the ground with her not one but two masterpiece outfits. While the mainstream Hindi movie stars are making us all proud at Cannes, Assamese actress Aimee Baruah, too, made us proud by beautifully representing her Assamese roots on the global platform.
While scrolling through our Instagram feed, we stumbled upon Aimee Baruah's Cannes 2024 look, and to say we were bowled by her beauty would be an understatement. The actress donned a muga silk mekhla sador, (also referred to as mekhla chador) on the global platform and proudly represented her Assamese roots. Her mekhla featured red detailing along with a white and red statement garment piece, known as gamocha.

She paired her mekhla with a gold necklace and earrings, an extended hair accessory, and a pair of gold bracelets. Aimee completed her look with soft glam, nude pink lips, a lilac gajra, and a red bindi.
For the second day, Aimee donned a black-and-white striped saree with a heavily embroidered blouse. The blouse had multi-hued detailing and even sheer detailing with mirror work, which further elevated the look by many folds. For the glam, Aimee wore her hair in a bun with a braid design and attached roses to it. For accessories, she donned a statement earring and a ring.

Aimee blew our minds with a black and golden two-piece set for her third look. The co-ord featured a crop top with black lace straps and a matching skirt in black and golden hues. She completed her look with a braided hairdo, neutral glam base, red shadowed eyes, and pink glossy lips.
