Since time immemorial, Bollywood has seen generations of actors coming from eminent film families try their luck in the world of glamour. These star kids followed in the footsteps of their successful seniors and ended up getting rewarded with even more fame and stardom.

On the contrary, the luck factor has not been the same for a few other star kids, who despite their illustrious parents in the business, could not make a mark in the hearts of the audience. Well then, check out some of these star kids who made a flop career in Bollywood.

#1. Uday Chopra, son of eminent filmmaker, late Yash Raj Chopra

Bollywood’s legendary filmmaker, late Yash Chopra needs no introduction. The scion has created over thousands of iconic films which have been a cult favourite to the audience to date. In his personal life, the filmmaker has been blessed with two sons, Aditya and Uday Chopra. While Aditya went on to carry the legacy of the Yash Raj Films as established by his father, on the other hand, Uday, who entered into acting could not make a big name in the field. Even after his big thumping debut with the film, Mohabbatein, his subsequent performances did not match up to the high box-office ratings, which led him to quit the profession subsequently.

#2. Mahaakshay Chakraborty, son of ‘Disco King’, Mithun Chakraborty

One of the most popular actors in his generation, Mithun Chakraborty is vividly credited for bringing in the culture of pop music and break dance to the realm of Indian filmography. Therefore, his iconic performance in the film, Disco Dancer still pulls a string in the hearts of his die-hard fans. Unfortunately, his eldest son, Mahaakshay Chakraborty a.k.a Mimoh could not match up to the success of his father when it came to his own acting stint. He made a mediocre debut with the film, Haunted which received mixed to low reviews. Thereafter, his subsequent films could not make a mark, that led him to be easily forgotten in the rat race to reach the top of the ladder.

#3. Adhyayan Suman, son of actor, Shekhar Suman

Popular actor, director and host, Shekhar Suman is a name known to many. He started his career as an actor with films like, Utsav, Tridev, Ranbhoomi and others. Thereafter, much later in life, he also took up the roles as a director and a television host to shows like, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Comedy Circus among others. But when it comes to his son, Adhyayan, he has not made quite a successful trajectory like his father. He made his debut with the film, Haal-e-Dil in 2008. Thereafter, he made a semi-hit with the film, Raaz-The Mystery Continues. But after that, the actor was unable to land in any suitable film and make a name for himself.

#4. Tanishaa Mukerji, daughter of yesteryear actress, Tanuja

One of the most glamorous actresses of the golden era of Bollywood, Tanuja made a name for herself with films like, Prem Rog, Lal Kothi, Masoom, Jewel Thief among others. The actress got married to eminent filmmaker, Shomu Mukherjee and was blessed with two daughters, Kajol and Tanishaa, both of whom went on into the spree of acting. However, while Kajol was massively successful, Tanishaa could not record the same. The actress made only a few semi-to-mediocre hits in Bollywood, post which she quit acting completely.

#5. Harman Baweja, son of successful filmmaker, Harry Baweja

The scion of Baweja Studios, one of the leading production houses in Bollywood, Harry Baweja has been quite a successful filmmaker. His most prominent works include films like Dilwale, Deewane, Karz, Love Story 2050 and others. But when it comes to his son, Harman Baweja, it seems that the son has not been quite as much successful as his dad. After his promising debut with the film, Love Story 2050, his performance gradually took a level down and people lost interest in his talents. Thereafter, he quit acting and took up the producer’s chair in his home production house.

#6. Jackky Bhagnani, son of producer, Vashu Bhagnani

Vashu Bhagnani has been one of the most prominent film producers in Bollywood, and his production house, Puja Entertainment has successfully churned out some massive hits throughout the decade. Sadly, his son, Jackky has not been able to climb the ladder of success like him. Jackky made his debut with the film, Kal Kissne Dekha that turned out to be a massive flop. He continued to be a part of quite a few unsuccessful films, until in 2014 he made a critical hit with Youngistaan. Thereafter, he decided to step down from mainstream acting and took up the producing job. His most successful films as producer had been Sarbjit in 2016, that was a massive hit.

#7. Fardeen Khan, son of dashing yesteryear actor, late Feroz Khan

Feroz Khan had been one of the most dashing actors of yesteryear Bollywood. His charming persona and drop-dead handsome looks made women go weak in the knees. Continuing with his legacy as an actor, we have his son, Fardeen Khan who emerged as one of the chocolate-boy heroes of the 90s era of Bollywood. His handsome looks and wooing personality could only gather him female attention, and unfortunately not much of a box-office success.

#8. Zayed Khan, son of well-acclaimed actor, Sanjay Khan

Sanjay Khan had been one other popular actor of the 70s golden decade of Bollywood. He, much like his elder brother, Feroz Khan made stalwart figures in Bollywood. In his personal life, Sanjay is married to Zarine Khan and the couple is blessed with three daughters, Farah, Sussanne, Simone and a son, Zayed Khan. Speaking about Zayed, he too followed his father’s footsteps into Bollywood, but could not attain much stardom as compared to him.

Hema Malini had been one of the most successful actresses of her generation. Popularly hailed by the acronym, ‘Dream Girl’, she indeed made a stir in the hearts of her audience with her mesmerising talents in acting. In her personal life, she got married to iconic actor, Dharmendra and was blessed with two daughters, Esha Deol Takhtani and Ahana Deol. While the latter did not venture into the glamour world, however, it was Esha who made a career in Bollywood. Unfortunately, her fame was short-lived since she could not win the hearts of the fans with her expected performance as a star kid.

#10. Neil Nitin Mukesh, son of iconic singer, Nitin Mukesh

One of the most prestigious families in the history of Indian playback singing, the house of legendary singer, Mukesh comes on the top of the list. His legacy was followed by his son, Nitin Mukesh who too, made a grand hit through his voice. But, when it came to the third generation with his son, Neil Nitin Mukesh, things changed a bit. Neil decided to venture into acting, a discipline which is completely different from the one his family has been known hereditarily. Unfortunately, in spite of his charming looks, the actor could not make it big in Bollywood.
