[EXCLUSIVE] Chahat Anand On Cultural Issues Family Had With Beau Matt, 'Panditji..'

Chahat Anand who recently got engaged to Matt, whom she met on a dating app platform, revealed the challenges she had to face due to the cultural differences.

For social media influencer, Chahat Anand's love has no limits. She found love in Matt, whom she got engaged in December 2024. The food and travel vlogger met the love of her life via a dating app in Japan, 8 months ago. However, Matt follows the Christian religion, and Chahat is a Hindu. It was not easy for her to convince her family, but where there is a will, there is a way. The young content creator spilled exclusive details on how she had to convince her nanu (maternal grandfather) and the other family members.

Chahat Anand had to persuade her family, before her panditji said yes to her relationship

During an exclusive interview with Bollywood Shaadis, Chahat and Matt were asked if the family had cultural differences or issues. It is interesting to note that Chahat and Matt did their engagement shopping in Karol Bagh, Rajouri Garden, Sarojini Market, and Chandni Chowk areas in Delhi. However, before her engagement was finalised, Chahat had to convince her family. She said:

"It was difficult for sure. Now it is fine. I didn't do kundali matching, but one day, my nanu came into the house. Panditji approved."

Chahat Anand's beau, Matt reveals if his parents had got the cultural shock

Matt, who is head-over-heels in love with Chahat, revealed that he had met her in Japan and then had connected with her over chat. He had no idea about her real personality. He did not know that she was famous in India. However, as predestined love found its way to Matt, his parents were pretty chilled with his choice. He said:

"My family is easy going. In western culture, it is easier to choose whom you want to marry. And they trust the child's decision more in this kind of way. I was telling my parents whom I really like, and I am planning to propose. They were happy about it. If you think this is the one, go ahead with it. It would not affect anything in the future."

Chahat Anand texted Matt about marriage within a weeks time of talking

Chahat and Matt's proposal story was cute. Matt revealed that she was the one hinting at getting married. One month after they met in Japan, he spontaneously flew to India to meet Chahat. They just stayed in Delhi, and Matt felt that this could be something serious. After it progressed more, and at some point, that proposal happened. Chahat had blatantly popped the difficult question of marriage and was clear with her intentions. In her words:

"After a week of us chatting, I just wrote to him. By the way, you know, I would like to get married in one year, and he was like so confused, and we had just started chatting a few days ago. We didn't shoot the proposal video as it was personal and private. In the video it is shown I am shy."

Chahat and Matt used to write daily for at least 10 hours and not with breaks. They had a lot to share and talk about.
