Chahatt Khanna expressed gratitude for coming back to Santan Dharam after converting to Islam by her ex-husband, Farhan Mirza.
Chahatt Khanna, who rose to fame with her character, 'Ayesha Sharma' in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and 'Nida Beg' in Qubool Hai. While she has been loved for her acting, her personal life has been a rollercoaster ride. She had an abusive first marriage with Bharat Narsinghani, which ended within a year. However,her second marriage with Farhan Mirza, which also didn't last long, changed her a lot, and even made her re-discover her faith in God.
Chahatt Khanan was married to Bollywood writer, Shahrukh Mirza's son, Farhan Mirza. They even have two daughters together. After their marriage, Chahatt accepted Islam as her religion. However, in 2018, they parted ways on an ugly note. Recently, in an interview with Zoom, Chahatt revealed that she has no regret of converting her religion but she is way happier to come back to her Sanatan Dharma.
Chahatt shared that she is not religion but extremely spiritual. She also added that she learnt about Islam after she got married. She found a lot of answers in Islam. Sharing the reason for converting, Chahatt shared that she was vulnerable, and was influenced into it, but she doesn't regret it.
Chahatt further was questioned if she was brainwashed into accepting Islam. A hesitant Chahatt agreed and said in a way. She even shared that she was asked not to worship her God. She was quoted as saying:
"I don't know what that was but haa keh sakte hai. That's why I say thankfully I'm back home. I was told not to worship my God and probably that was not the correct way. Now I know what's wrong and right."
Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Chahatt talked about working as a single mother. She shared that the obstacles she faced nad how people told her to stop putting her children's photos on her social media. She was quoted as saying:
"A lot of people told me that I shouldn't be putting up my babies' images on social media as I wouldn't get work, and in that process, I did lose out on work. But now I firmly tell them that I don't want to work with people who have regressive mindsets. I am a mother, and that's a fact. If I am asked to change or hide this fact just for work, I cannot and will never do that, come what may."
Earlier, Chahatt had revealed that she wasn't getting a lot of work due to her being a single mother. She shared that people start judging her for being a single mother, and there are not much work she was getting.
