Charu Asopa Reveals How She Had Overcome Postpartum Depression By Working From Home

Mere Angne Mein actress, Charu Asopa is a proud mommy to her seven-month-old daughter, Ziana Sen and a doting wife of Rajeev Sen. The lovebirds have been acing their parental duties like a pro, and their social media handles are proof of the same. Every now and then, the couple teases their fans by posting cutesy glimpses with their little munchkin, Ziana.

However, Charu had faced postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter, and in a recent interview, the actress opened up about how she had overcome the challenging phase of loneliness. For those who don’t know, Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen had met each other through a mutual friend. And it was on June 7, 2019, when the much-in-love couple had tied the knot.

In a recent candid conversation with the Hindustan Times, the doting mother, Charu Asopa revealed how postmortem depression used to make her feel lonely and isolated. She also disclosed that after the birth of Ziana, she was taking on small advertisement campaigns to keep herself occupied with work, which had also helped her overcome depression. In her words:

“I used to feel isolated, all alone at that time… It was bad. I think my work only helped me to get out of it. Because when I used to do little ad campaigns, I used to feel good. So, whenever I work I feel good and that helped me in my postpartum depression also. Now, I am taking care of myself and working from home made me feel good about myself and really helped me.”

Further in the interview, Charu mentioned that depression is a taboo topic in society and people avoid discussing it in open places. However, the new mommy thinks that being an influencer, she should spread more information about depression through her content so that people feel normal to discuss it openly. Charu can be quoted as saying:

“Depression is something that people don’t talk about openly. It should be discussed and of course we as influencers should discuss it, so that other people feel normal about it.”

In the same conversation, Charu also expressed her wish to continue working to provide a better future and good quality education to her daughter, Ziana. She stated:

“I want to work for the betterment of my daughter, Ziana, so that I can give a better life and a better education to her, which is why I want to work again. I don’t think I will feel guilty about leaving her at home and going to work,” says the actor, adding, “I will try my best to keep Ziana as much as possible. I’m thinking of taking Ziana with me on shoot. She can be with me in the makeup room and chill there."
