Chhavi Mittal welcomed her second baby, Arham Hussein on May 13, 2019. Though quite a known face, Chhavi had gained humongous popularity when she penned her entire pregnancy journey on Instagram through her posts and pictures. And her post-partum journey too is no different. From sharing invaluable baby lessons and weight loss secrets, Chhavi Mittal never fails to mesmerise us and all that we want to ask her is- “How do you keep your calm, Chhavi?”
'Babies' and 'crying' are almost synonymous to each other and newbie mommies must have a hard time brainstorming on what purpose is the cry for. And Chhavi Mittal seemed to have figured out an answer. Throwing light on the most mysterious question on this planet regarding babies (Why do they cry?), this is what the supermom shared, “The crying baby... Yes, it's my baby, it's your baby, it's everyone's baby... Because that's what babies do. Cry. Why? Because that's the only language they know.. but do you the most common reason for babies to cry incessantly? It is the lack of understanding by parents why they're crying! Can you imagine the frustration when you ask someone for food and they keep picking you up and walking around? Yes, that's what babies feel most of the times. And we as parents.. we feel like we're visiting China and don't have any idea about what we're getting told! Well to a great extent the feeling is mutual.”
Chhavi Mittal further chalked out a couple of pro-mommy tips on how to identify baby cries and gestures to understand what he/she wants. She added, “So dear new mothers, while you and I both figure out why our respective babies are crying, there are a couple of things we can do: 1. Before rushing to pick up a crying baby, take just a minute to understand what other signs is he giving us! Sleepiness (rubbing eyes, yawning) or hunger (sucking tongue, looking left n right for a nipple), or colic (screaming, wincing in pain). And accordingly, attend to our LO's need. 2. Let's not be embarrassed of a crying baby in public! It's OK to be a new mom and it's OK to take time to understand our babies. We're not superhumans! Till then, let's rely on our instincts. But remember, the above advice is easier said than done! #crying.” (Must Read: Mira Rajput Kapoor Twins With Daughter, Misha Kapoor In Their Traditional Best, Look Lovely Together)
Chhavi Mittal, a few days back, had also shared how she is trying to sleep train her newborn, Arham Hussein. She had stated, “For the last week or so I've been trying to sleep train Arham. Trying for him to understand the difference between night and day.. day time is for playing and eating, night time is for sleeping and growing! Regulated feed timings, regulated nap timings, maintaining a log to understand his requirements better etc... But when is a good time to give in, or give up? When he wails at an odd time (during a nap or worse, in the night) you go to him to see what caused it, and find a baby with a BIG gummy smile across his face! There goes all your resolve to make him sleep and to get some sleep yourself! Yours truly, Severely sleep derived mommy #sleepdeprived.”
A lot of newbie mothers can vouch for a fact that their sleep and their entire sleeping pattern goes in for a toss when you welcome a little lub-dub in your life. Here's what Chhavi Mittal feels about it, "People tell a new mother to "sleep when the baby sleeps". But let me tell you it's really not possible! Because when the baby sleeps you gotta eat, bathe, brush, fold clothes, sort out the cupboard, order groceries, check mails, write scripts, call for some essentials online, decide what to cook, Instagram too and some days, comb your hair! Boy, it's exhausting! And then if the baby is kind, you get to take a 20 min power nap. Telling you, I've been sleeping 4 hours every 24 hours... zzzz... #newmother.” (Also Read: Misha Kapoor Is A Protective Bestie As She Hugs Her BFF, Mira Rajput Kapoor Posts A Birthday Wish)
