In a conversation with The Times Of India, Avinesh Rekhi, who prefers to keep a low profile, talked about his wife, Raisa. He shared that he was married before being a part of the serial, Chal - Sheh Aur Maat. He said:
"I was already married when I acted in Chal - Sheh Aur Maat but people wrongly assumed that I kept it a secret. People never asked me about my marital status and I felt it was best kept private and personal. But I never shied away from talking about my wife."
Going further in the conversation, Avinesh shared how he had met his wife at a wedding in Ludhiana. He even revealed that their relationship was more of a phone friendship because of their long-distance. The actor stated:
"It was a school boy - school girl infatuation when we first met at a wedding in Ludhiana. We instantly liked each other and I decided to stay in touch after that. She was based in Delhi and I was in Chandigarh, but I would manage to go to PCO booths and talk to her for hours. One day the PCO booth guy sent a bill which ran into thousands and my family was shocked! Our families also felt that we should give up on this infatuation and just focus on our careers. Since it was long distance, we could not meet often and I can say it was more of a phone friendship for many years."

The actor further talked about his two children and opened up about his wife, Raisa. He recalled the time when their friendship had blossomed into love. Avinesh even mentioned that he has never dated any girl other than Raisa. He said:
"It's only when I was in my final year of college, I started going to Delhi on my bike to meet her. Our friendship blossomed into love and then within a year of getting a TV show, we got married in December 2010. It was after my marriage that I got Chal - Sheh Aur Maat in 2012. Raisa is a very homely. She used to be an airhostess but quit her career to focus on family. Women can make a house into a home and I wanted someone like that. Of course I was okay with her pursuing a career, but I also wanted family to be our top priority. I am not joking when I say that I have not dated any girl besides Raisa. It was always her from school to college and now."
When the actor was asked how his wife reacts to his romantic scenes onscreen, Avinesh promptly gave a befitting reply to it and said:
"It is my work and she understand that. She has also been on all my sets and met my co-actors, so why would she feel anything about my work?"
On the professional front, Avinesh is currently working on the serial, Tere Bina Jeeya Jaye Na.
