Chum Darang opens up about whether there is the possibility of a romantic angle with her co-contestant in 'Bigg Boss 18', Karan Veer Mehra.
The controversial reality show Bigg Boss wrapped up its 18th season with one of the most captivating competitions to date, as Karan Veer Mehra bagged the coveted winner’s trophy and Rs. 50 lakh cash prize. However, it’s his bond with co-contestant, Chum Darang that’s sparking major buzz across social media. Fans have been shipping the duo with the hashtag #ChumVeer, wondering if their on-screen camaraderie will evolve into something deeper.
In an interview with News18 Showsha, Chum Darang addressed rumours of her romantic connection with Karan Veer Mehra. When asked about their beautiful friendship and whether they will have the same bond now that the show is over, Chum candidly responded:
“This friendship will go on. Hum logo ne sirf ghar ke andar ke liye friendship nahi banaya hai, definitely. The friendship will go on and on, and continue outside the house also.”
Talking about the possibility of a romantic bond with Karan, Chum smiled and responded that she did not know about that yet. While she laughed off direct questions about a romantic angle, her candidness left fans intrigued. Meanwhile, Karan appeared more open to exploring the possibility of a romantic bond with Chum. In a recent interview with News18, when asked about the same, Karan confessed his readiness by saying:
"Woh to wahi batayegi aab. Main to ready hu."
Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Chum Darang was asked about her attachment to Karan during and after the show. Chum, who became the fifth runner-up in Bigg Boss 18, shared how Karan was one such friend who supported her emotionally. She was quoted as saying:
“As I said before, inside the house, in life, we always need someone around, right? Someone to support us emotionally. We need someone, right? So, I think Karan and Shilpa Ma’am (Shilpa Shirodkar) were there for me. Karan did a lot, and I’m always thankful. But whatever happened, happened organically, and I’m glad it happened that way.”
Bigg Boss 18 Grand Finale, which aired on January 19, 2025, at Mumbai’s Film City, saw Karan crowned as the winner. Chum, who secured a spot in the top five, couldn’t contain her excitement for her friend. Immediately after announcing Karan as the winner, Chum was seen shouting in ecstasy and celebrating the win with former contestant, Shilpa Shirodkar. She was also heard saying, “Trophy ghar aagaye”.
Whether or not Chum Darang and Karan Veer Mehra take their relationship beyond friendship, their bond has already made Bigg Boss 18 unforgettable. Now, it’s only a matter of time to see whether this friendship blooms into something more special.
