CID, which has been one of the most popular TV series, is returning to the screens after a six-year hiatus. Everyone is excited with this comeback as they will get to watch the series, which first went live in 1998, and is considered as one of the longest-running TV shows. For the unversed, the show ended in 2018, leaving everyone shocked. Well, as it's returning to the screens, we all are waiting to hear the famous dialogue of one of the main characters of the series, 'ACP Pradyuman'. The dialogue was, 'Kuch to gadbad hai Daya!'. 'ACP Pradyuman', known as Shivaji Satam in real life, has been a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. While everyone is familiar with his professional life, let us tell you a bit more about his personal life.
CID fame, Shivaji Satam got married to Aruna Satam. While Shivaji looks a bit tough on the television screens, he is an equally soft-hearted person in real life. Aruna was a player in Maharashtra's Kabaddi team and the owner of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Award. Later, she took on the management duties of the same team and became a coach. Praising his wife, Shivaji, in an interview, said that she has achieved everything in her life.
Shivaji and Aruna's bond left everyone wondering if it was a love marriage, but actually, it was an arranged marriage. The wedding was fixed by the former's father, who was a gymnast. As per Aaj Tak, Shivaji once spilt the beans about how his wedding with Aruna was fixed. He said that his father was a man of progressive thinking and never had those backdated ideas. His father had been the head of their family, and the proposal of Shivaji's wedding with Aruna came through a common friend, and their mutual liking for one another, created the bridge between them. The duo got married possibly in 1976, and they have two children.
Shivaji and Aruna's journey was not long, and they were together for 24 years before the latter breathed her last back in 2000. Aruna suffered from cancer, and for seven years, she gave it a tough fight. Talking about the same, Shivaji said that during the tough phase of her life, not just him but the entire industry extended their support. Shivaji, being a doting husband and the perfect family man, had to juggle between his personal and professional life. He had to take care of his children and his ill wife.
Shivaji shared that it was a very tough phase in his life as well, but everyone, including his family, friends, and colleagues supported him throughout. He recalled when all of these happened to his wife, he was filming for Ghulam-e-Mustafa. Shivaji added that everyone, including Nana Patekar and Aruna Irani, stood by his side like close acquaintances, and they were nothing short of family to him.
Shivaji Satam began his career in the entertainment industry in 1980 with the TV series, Rishte-Naate. Later, he was seen in the series, Famous Trials of India. Apart from that, he also appeared in the Marathi show, Ek Shunya Shunya. He played a titular role in the show, CID for over two decades, and left everyone stuck to the screen with his acting skills. He was also seen in several Hindi movies, including Nayak, Vastav, Ghulam-e-Mustafa, China Gate, Yashwant, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rahta Hai, Who Tu Tu, and Sooryavansham.
