The 'CID' team had an epic reaction to a viral meme on 'Bae' not replying to messages after leaving on read.
Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, and Aditya Srivastava's CID was not just a crime thriller serial but an emotion for all the 90's kids. The show's die-hard fans were heartbroken when the serial went off air. Fans of the show wanted it to return, and their manifestation worked. CID is a classic show, and the internet has always been flooded with memes. Now, Shivaji, Dayanand and Aditya have reacted to a viral meme on bae that would leave you in splits.
The serial, CID was created by BP Singh and had Shivaji Satam essayed 'ACP Pradyuman'. Aditya Srivastava played Senior Inspector 'Abhijeet', while Dayanand played 'Daya'. During an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, journalist, and host, Gayatri Nirmal showed the cast a meme on the moment bae does not reply even after being seen. The meme featured Aditya and the caption spoke about memes that would make 'Daya laugh'. A confused Shivaji asked, "Bae ka matlab kya hai?" Daya commented, "Bai bai". The journalist then corrected them and 'bae' is not 'bai' but a girlfriend or a boyfriend is called the same. Daya, Abhijeet and Shivaji said:
"Mujhe laga kaam wali bai. I was thinking that. Bhai. Mujhe laga wahi. Gen Z man Gen Z. Gen Z toh matlab 10 saal pehle aise bolte thei. Kya beh kidhar jalera beh. Beh waha se aaya kya?"
The stellar show also had the late Dinesh Phadnis, who played the popular Inspector Fredricks and Narendra Gupta, to name a few, who played 'Dr R.P. Salunkhe'. The serial premiered back in 1998 and had 1500 episodes. The second season aired on December 21, 2024. In the same interview, the stars revealed the love they got for the show and how the makers were encouraged to come back with a new season. Daya said:
"Humne koshish ki aur kuchh shuru kiya. Haath paer maara. Fir humne same team ke saath toh nahi but thoda changes kar ke ek humne crime show kiya. Woh bhi COVID ke pehle band ho gaya. Uske baad hum koshish kar rahe the ki agar CID as a show nahi aata hai toh we will do something else. Humlog film plan kar rahe the. Manifestation humara bhi chalu tha. Waise hi audience ka bhi waise hi response aa raha tha."
It was on December 5, 2023, when Dinesh Phadnis, best known for playing 'Fredricks' a.k.a 'Freddy 'passed away on December 5, 2023, due to liver damage. He was an important part of the CID team. Dayanand, in the same interview, shared that the entire CID team missed him as he was their senior. Daya added:
"Satam sir has been in the show since the beginning. And sir (Freddy) was there since 92 or 93 when the pilot was shot. The character Dhanu, played by Sudhakar, has also been there since 92 or 93. And Dinesh also joined later, so he was senior to me when I joined the show.”
