Yes, let us start with this. Singles often are overwhelmed when people keep asking them, “So, what are YOUR plans for marriage?” Well, if you have been asked this or other similar questions repeatedly, then it just means one thing- you are attending way too many weddings. Your third cousin from your mother’s side may invite you to her seven-day gala wedding, but it does not mean that you have to go. Send a gift and a note wishing them, give an excuse, and leave it at that.

Once you have managed to escape the clutches of annoying relatives, keep your eyes open for other singles, who might be having a hard time as well. Go and introduce yourself to them, and spend all your time having fun together. Many singles, in a bid to stop people from commenting on their relationship status, bring along a date. Now, at times, this might not be a very good idea, especially if it turns out to be a ‘bad date’. Also, most people (read: aunties) have strong memories, and the next time you meet them at a wedding, you are going to have to answer some really uncomfortable questions about him/her. Plus, you will be miserable having to put up with a bad date, who will constantly remind you of the favour they are doing for you.
‘A handsome, eligible bachelor meets a beautiful, single girl at a wedding, they fall in love, and they live happily ever after.’ Sounds perfect, right? Well, that happens only in the movies (Hum Aapke Hain Koun… anyone?)! Sadly, real life is very different from the reel one. So, dress up in your best, look fabulous, and have a blast. But, do not secretly keep hoping that you will run into your soulmate at the wedding. At the most, your irritating aunt might try to set you up with a few "Buntys" or "Dollys".

They are just bound to drive you nuts with tales of their dream wedding, perfect honeymoon and glorious new life together! They might not ask you awkward questions, but they will make sure to oversell marriage to such an extent that the very word will start making you feel dizzy.
Sometimes, weddings might make even the best ones doubt life's choices, and their single status. Instead of wallowing in chasm of self-pity or endless retrospections, you should get yourself pampered. You need this especially, if it was a close friend or relative who got hitched, and you had to attend ceremony after ceremony for days! The best way to cheer yourself during the wedding season is to indulge yourself in the things you love. It could be a spa, your favourite movie, or a short trip with your best (single) buddies. After enduring all those uncomfortable questions and nosy relatives, you deserve a treat!
Never let anybody make you feel low. Remember, anybody can get hitched, but your days of singlehood will never come back again. So, enjoy them to the fullest until they last.
