Famous Punjabi singer and songwriter, Daler Mehndi is in trouble. The Punjab police have arrested the famous singer in a 23-year-old Human trafficking case. For those who don't know, Daler Mehndi along with his deceased brother, Shamsher Singh were booked by Patiala police in a human trafficking case. After receiving the first complaint, the police received 35 more similar complaints against the popular singer.
Not many know that in the complaints, which were registered almost two decades ago, Daler Mehendi and his late brother, Shamsher Singh were accused of collecting passage money to take people abroad via the troupe route. People claimed that they had taken money, but they did not keep their promise.

On July 14, 2022, a court in Patiala, Punjab, sentenced Daler Mehndi to two-year imprisonment. The Punjab police have found ample evidence against Daler Mehndi. And the court immediately ordered the arrest of the singer. He was originally sentenced to jail in 2018. The case was registered in September 2003 by a man named, Bakshish Singh.
Earlier, Daler Mehndi was arrested a month after the FIR and got bail within days. However, he was charged under the Indian Penal Code's sections for human trafficking and conspiracy and under the Indian Passport act.
In 2017, Daler Mehndi's brother, Shamsher Mehndi passed away!
