Earlier, we had spotted contestant, Arti Singh praising her co-contestant, Dalljiet Kaur for her courage. Dalljiet had married television actor, Shalin Bhanot in the year 2009 and after six-year, she had filed for divorce. While it came as a big shock, everyone admired Dalljiet for speaking up for herself.
After a long break from the small screen, Dalljiet came back as a contestant on the popular reality show, Bigg Boss 13. However, her stay was short as she got evicted in the second week. Recently, in an interview with the IANS, the actress shared how difficult it was for her to stay away from her son. She said, "I have never lived without my son for more than three days. I didn't know how I survived the two weeks without him. It was so difficult to control my emotions. Sometimes while missing Jaydon, I started getting pain in my chest. So one can imagine how challenging it was. But it has made me more strong now."
Dalljiet also opened up on her future plans and shared, "Coming into 'Bigg Boss' was a drastic step in my career. I left one show for this. I am hoping something good happens and I get good projects. Coming back to her tough phase, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Dalljiet had bared her heart out. She had talked about her struggles and how she came out of it. She had stated, "This is one of the biggest highs of my life. I realised that I need to start losing weight in a drastic way. I was sitting at home and sulking one day while looking in the mirror. I was like, ‘Who the hell is this? The old fat Dalljiet.’ I started working out right after and two years later, I am thinner than ever before. I am healthier and the best part is that I can pick up my son and walk."
She had further added, "I was fatter, depressed and struggling back then. Now I’m a changed person and I am looking for happier roles. Till the time I get something, I am enjoying my time with my son."
In an interview, Dalljiet had shared the reason behind her divorce and had stated, "It wasn't love at first sight. We became close gradually and got married immediately after 'Nach Baliye'. Trouble started the very next day when my mother-in-law stopped talking to me because she wasn’t happy with the wedding gifts. Status-wise, we are very different and they always knew about it. My father has three daughters and couldn’t afford the kind of wedding they expected."
Dalljiet had further revealed that the real-ordeal started when she had quit her job during her pregnancy and had shared, "During pregnancy, I developed severe asthma and was on steroids, which Shaleen doesn’t even know. He never accompanied me to the doctor for check-ups. He didn’t want me to undergo Caesarean and accused me of influencing the doctor. His argument was that I wouldn’t be a woman enough if I went in for C-section." (Don't Miss: Lisa Haydon Flaunting Her Baby Bump During Vacation Is Giving Pregnancy Goals To Every Mommy-To-Be)
