Dalljiet Kaur opened up about the compensation she wanted, and it was her right to ask her former husband, Nikhil Patel.
Dalljiet Kaur's messy divorce from NRI husband, Nikhil Patel had hogged the limelight. The former couple married in March 2023, and troubles cropped up after a few months of marital bliss. The actress had accused her husband of having an extramarital affair. She had moved with him her son, Jaydon, to Kenya. However, Dalljiet returned to India with her son after a few months. The duo have washed their dirty linen in public. However, Dalljiet has not yet healed from the trauma and wants alimony from Nikhil.
Dalljiet Kaur had a happy paradise for a few months after marrying Nikhil Patel. However, she had given subtle hints on her Instagram stories that her estranged husband had an affair. However, she has not stopped pressing charges against him. During a recent interview with Galatta India, Dalljiet revealed the alimony she wanted from Nikhil. She said:
"Compensation should start with an actual apology. That flight should have been maintained. My fight on what money they are going to give. I'll earn it. You want to give the money. That should be given because it'll hurt you. , but that apology is due. "
Nikhil had released a statement, in which he claimed that he had not legally separated from his first wife. However, Dalljiet was aware of this when they had a ceremony. He was also accused of verbally accusing the actress. In his words, Nikhil defended himself and said:
“Dalljiet was very persistent on moving to Kenya and starting a new life there with my daughter and I. She understood the fact that I was still not legally divorced from my first marriage. In fact, my legal counsel at the time, sent Dalljiet's parents a letter clearly stating this fact, to which they gave their blessing to the ceremony. This is why the Hindu ceremony was held in a banquet hall rather than a Gurdwara or a Mandir, and was purely a non-legally binding celebration for our respective family and friends, and for the sole purpose of Dalljiet being able to move to Kenya. My final divorce did not arrive until January of this year, by which time Dalljiet had already left Kenya for good (sic).”
Nikhil, then leveled that Dalljiet was deliberately omitting in her chosen narrative; she was in no way misled about his status as a still married man. The fact is that their marriage celebration in India was not in any way meant to be, nor was it a 'legal' marriage ceremony. He also added, that for Dalljiet to pretend that they entered a legal union was deliberately deceptive and meant solely for purposes of supporting her victim self-portrayal.
What do you think about Dalljiet Kaur's ugly spat with Nikhil Patel, which does not seem to end?
