Twenty years after David Beckham's cheating scandal came into the limelight, the woman, Rebecca Loos, with whom he had an affair, says that he needs to take responsibility for what he did back then.
David Beckham and Victoria Beckham would have never expected that Netflix’s docu-series, Beckham, would again cause a stir because of one of the dark chapters of their lives. The documentary went from highlighting how he became a cultural icon in the 90s to his alleged extramarital affair in 2003. The Beckham couple has neither confirmed nor denied the cheating scandal involving the former English football player.
Both were seen talking about how difficult those days were for their family and how they coped with the entire situation. However, recently, Rebecca Loos, with whom David cheated on his wife, has once again come forward to talk about the entire scandal and present her views to the world. For the unversed, Rebecca used to be David’s personal assistant.

David Beckham cheated on Victoria Beckham with Rebecca Loos almost two decades ago. In 2004, Rebecca revealed the same to the media and said she and the then-Real Madrid player had an affair behind his wife’s back. But the Beckhams never responded to the revelations made back then. However, since the documentary on David Beckham was released, his extramarital affair has again found a place in the media headlines.
As expected, the Beckhams did not disclose any details of the affair. They have mostly talked about how the media hounded their family and how they came out of the desperate times. But David's alleged mistress did not keep quiet. In an interview with Daily Mail, Rebecca Loos said that David Beckham needs to take full responsibility for what had happened back then. She further added:
“He can say whatever he likes, of course, and I understand he has an image to preserve, but he is portraying himself as the victim, and he’s making me look like a liar like I’ve made up these stories. He is indirectly suggesting that I’m the one who has made Victoria suffer.”
For the unversed, Rebecca Loos, a yoga and meditation teacher, is now married to a Norwegian doctor named Sven Christjar Skaiaa, and the couple has two kids. She leads a happy life in Norway. She mentioned in the same interview that Norwegians are less judgemental people. She said:
“It’s not like England here, it’s much less judgmental. I used to get people coming up to me in Waitrose, right in my face, taking pictures of me with their mobiles.”

The recent documentary has returned her to the public eye again, leading to harassment and trolling on social media. On the other hand, the documentary, which Beckham's own production company produced, carefully avoided any awkward questions, instead painting a sympathetic portrait of the famous footballer, which infuriated Rebecca Loos. She mentioned:
“Yes, the stories were horrible, but they’re true. He talks in the documentary about this ultimately being his private life, shutting it down. I think it’s one thing to keep your private life to yourself. It’s another thing to mislead the public. So many people put all this behind them, this whole affair, the scandal and everything. And he’s dragged it back up again in a way that is affecting my reputation. I think if he was going to touch on this time and how difficult it was, it would have been really nice for him to have said, 'It was not my proudest time.'"
Rebecca Loos further slams the former English football player for saying he felt sorry for Victoria as she had to endure such tough times. She says that this statement of David bothered her because he himself had hurt his wife, and he should have taken accountability for it. Rebecca said:
“The worst bit for me is that he says he didn’t like seeing his wife suffer. That bothered me. Because he’s the one that’s caused the suffering. He could have simply said that this was a tough time and I don’t want to talk about it. If you don’t want to take responsibility for things because of your family and your children, that’s absolutely fine. And if he had just said it was a tough time for us and moved on, I wouldn’t be here today. But he specifically made it look like my fault, that he had nothing to do with this.”
