Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh Learnt Kitchen Tricks Together In Udida Mahurat Ritual, Read Details

November 14-15, 2018 marked the much-awaited union of one of the most stunning couples from the Bollywood land, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. For the ones who have been living under the rocks all this while, Ranveer and Deepika tied the knot in two different ceremonies. On November 14, it was their Konkani wedding and on November 15, they had a Sindhi-Punjabi wedding. These two dates had made their mark on every DeepVeer fans’ mind as they were glued to their phone screens to get the first glimpse of the couple.

Thanks to the tight security and strict rules, Deepika and Ranveer’s wedding pictures surfaced only when they wanted. On November 15, after their second style wedding, the newly-wedded couple took to their respective social media handles and shared a few lovely clicks. Every snap the two shared is dreamy as hell. What grabbed many eyeballs is the picture of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone playing after their Konkani wedding. Before that let us tell you what this ritual is. For the ones who don’t know, black grams are considered auspicious in Konkani cuisine and are the staple food.

So, what happens is that when the mahurat of the wedding begins, the bride and groom, in the presence of the latter’s mother, are supposed to grind the black gram on the stone grinder. The reason why this ceremony is done is very interesting. It is believed this ritual helps the bride learn some kitchen tricks. And the groom does this so that he also should know some tricks when his wife is unwell. Each and every ritual was followed and one of the customs in Konkani weddings is Udida Mahurat. Amidst many pictures was this one, wherein the couple could be seen all smiles (*touchwood*). The newly-wedded couple is all set to host a grand wedding reception for their families at The Leela, Bangalore. A source has recently stated, “The biggest reason why Deepika chose to have the reception at the Leela, Bangalore was renowned Italian restaurant of New York, Le Cirque which goes by the name Le Cirque Signature. DP loves the restaurant in NYC and their franchise in Bengaluru drew Deepika to The Leela. Her mother has also gone food tasting 2-3 times. The food will be pre-dominantly South Indian though.
