Throwback to the time when Deepika Padukone revealed she is not casually dating Sidhartha Mallya and heaped praises on him.
Liquor baron Vijay Mallya’s son, Sidhartha Mallya, was once one of the most popular faces in the glamour world. From managing his father’s business to stepping foot into acting and modelling, Sidhartha was the heart and soul of every page 3 and entertainment party. The dashing and dynamic young entrepreneur was often seen at the stands of many IPL matches cheering for his team, Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Apart from his business, Sidhartha Mallya has a happening dating history. Son of fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya, Sidhartha has dated some of the most gorgeous women of B-town. His high-profile romantic involvements include actresses, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Sophie Choudhary, Freida Pinto, Sonal Chauhan, and a few others.

Out of all his linkups, Sidhartha's most controversial affair was with Deepika Padukone, which eventually turned ugly. Deepika and Sidhartha were so in love that she once declared her love for him was not casual. Yes, you read it right! Deepika once appeared on a talk show hosted by Simi Garewal, in which the actress addressed her dating rumours with Sidhartha.
When Simi asked Deepika whether she and Sidhartha are more than friends, the actress responded that it was too early to define anything about it. When Simi further quipped her that she is surely not into ‘casual dating’, Deepika nodded her head while denying it.

In the same interview, When Simi asked Deepika whether she is looking at her relationship with Sidhartha as a non-casual one, the actress responded by saying:
“I don’t know, he is an amazing person and what I admire about him the most is the fact that everything that comes with being a Mallya isn’t consequential to the boy. He is a very simple person, he is very real, he is very simple and the person I know is the person that he was when he was back in London. When he lived alone, when he lived in boarding school, when he could just step out of his house and nobody knew who he was.”

While being in a relationship, neither Sidhartha nor Deepika openly admitted the same. But their constant appearances together were proof enough that they were going steady. Be it her presence with him during the matches of Royal Challengers Bangalore or he visiting her ramp shows, the lovebirds were head-over-heels in love.
But as destiny would have it, after some time, their relationship went kaput, and they broke up. That’s not all, the couple who kept their relationship private started washing their dirty linen in public by accusing each other. Talking about her breakup with Sidhartha Mallya, Deepika once spoke to a leading daily and said:
“I tried hard to make the relationship work, but his behaviour in recent times has been disgusting. The last time we met on a dinner date, he asked me to pay the bill. That was so embarrassing for me.”
Fast forward to now, and both of them have eventually moved on in their lives. While Deepika is living her blissful marital life with Ranveer Singh and the couple is expecting their first baby. On the other hand, Siddharth Mallya, too, has moved on in his life and has found love again. For the unversed, in November 2023, Sidhartha got engaged to his girlfriend, Jasmine. In June 2024, Sidhartha announced the news of his intimate wedding with his fiancée, Jasmine.
