Throwback to the time when Deepika Padukone and Sidhartha Mallya's social media banter caught attention. She promised to bake a cake for him.
Deepika Padukone and Sidhartha Mallya were once madly in love. The duo was often spotted together at IPL tournaments and various parties. He would often cheer his ladylove during her ramp shows and movie premiers. The duo never publicly accepted their relationship, but their social media banter often garnered a lot of attention.
One such instance of Deepika Padukone and Sidhartha Mallya’s PDA moment happened when the actress took to her micro-blogging website and shared a picture of an oven and penned, “Reminds me of the days when I would come back from school and bake a chocolate cake for my mum.” As soon as Deepika shared the post, her rumoured boyfriend, Sidhartha commented:
“Bake me a cake.”

However, Deepika didn’t let Sidhartha’s comment go unnoticed and gave a cutesy reply to him, making it obvious that there was something cooking between the two. The actress replied to Sidhartha and tweeted:
“@sidharthamallya bring home the champions league trophy and I’ll bake a cake for u and ur team!”
As per multiple reports, Deepika Padukone and Sidhartha Mallya were head-over-heels in love with each other. In an interview with Swati Chaturvedi for her chat show, Kahiye Janab, Deepika addressed her dating rumours with Sidhartha. When the interviewer asked Deepika whether she was dating Sidhartha, the actress dodged the question. But, later when Swati asked Deepika whether she found Sidhartha nice-looking, pat came the reply from the actress as she said:
“Yes he is very good looking.”
Though Deepika and Sidharth were in a passionate relationship, things turned ugly soon, and the duo parted ways. The duo never disclosed the real reason behind their breakup, but the two kept taking a dig at each other publicly. The actress once stated with a leading daily that Sid asked her to pay the bill at Taj after they had a scrumptious dinner, and it left her embarrassed.

On the other hand, Sidharth defended Deepika’s accusations and called her a crazy female. Not just this, he also tagged her as a gold digger and recalled the expensive gifts he showered on her. In his words:
“Deepika is a crazy female; I told her that I’ll return her money once dad clears his debts and the government sets him free, but she was just not ready to settle down. She has forgotten the time I gifted her with expensive diamonds, luxurious bags, have spent huge on her vacations and hosted parties for her friends on her behalf.”
Deepika Padukone was diagnosed with depression in 2014, and the actress has talked about the same on multiple platforms. She even started her Live Love Laugh foundation to spread awareness about the same. On the other hand, Sidhartha Mallya, too had dealt with mental health issues and mentioned the same in his memoir, If I’m Honest.
In an interview with the Times of India, Sidhartha Mallya heaped praises on Deepika for speaking about her struggle with mental health and spreading awareness on the same. In his words:
“I think it’s amazing the work that she and everybody else do in India. There are just not enough people who talk about mental health. The fact that people like her use their platforms to promote mental health is very inspiring, and I think that the more people we can get to talk about mental health–whether it’s writing books, celebs or just grassroots level or teachers talking about it in school to children or families talking about it–better for everyone.”
On the personal front, Deepika Padukone is happily married to actor, Ranveer Singh and Sidhartha Mallya is soon getting hitched to his ladylove, Jasmine.
