Off late she had been attending lots of weddings in the tinsel town and we wondered when will Gul tie the knot herself? We must say that she did not keep us waiting and anticipating for long and married her friend and beau from teenage days, Captain Rishi Attari. The wedding took place in the Gurudawara in Chandigarh, the traditional Punjabi wedding, known as Anand-Karaj.
If Lara Dutta looked an epitome of sophisticated Victorian virtue in her classy wedding gown, then Gul Panag looked splendid as a Desi Punjabi Bride, in her Onion Pink Lehenga and super heavy-flashy jewelry. Her lehenga was a designed by J.J. Vallya, who took great care to make sure that Gul looked everything a bride must: elegant, graceful and alluring. Captain Rishi donned a cream colored sherwani and his onion pink turban laden with pearls and brooch was very fetching.
The wedding was attended by over 200 guests, mostly friends and family of Gul and Rishi. Gul’s friends from Bollywood, namely, Koel Puri, Shruti Seth etc also attended the wedding and immensely enjoyed dancing to the Punjabi dhol.
The highlight of the wedding was the joy-ride back home, where our Desi bride rode all the way in the side car of Rishi’s Royal Enfield. We are simply stumped by her style. Had it been any other couple doing this, we would have found it eccentric or quirky, but Gul and Captain Rishi with their identical glares looked very cute together and prepared for the life long journey together.
