'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' actor, Karan Mehra recently sent his best wishes to his co-star, Hina Khan, amid her cancer battle.
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which premiered in 2009, made history by becoming the longest-running show in Indian showbiz. The serial's first lead couple, 'Akshara and Naitik', played by Hina Khan and Karan Mehra, rose to meteoric fame due to the show. Initially, both actors gelled well with one another, but later, rumours of a cold war between them surfaced in the media.
Recently, the previous castmates of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai reunited for dinner. Karan Mehra, who played the male protagonist in the show's initial years, shared a collage featuring a then-and-now picture of the group on his Instagram. After such a heartwarming post, the actor was interviewed by the Hindustan Times, where he spoke about this unexpected reunion.

During the conversation, Karan was questioned about his co-star, Hina Khan, who recently shared that she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Sharing that he does not want to comment on someone's personal life as it is sensitive, the actor highlighted how Hina has been bravely battling cancer. He was quoted as saying:
"I would like to wish her a speedy recovery, which is already visible as she is battling it bravely. So, God bless her."
For those who don't know, on June 28, 2024, Hina took to her Instagram account to reveal that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. This came after reports surfaced in the media claiming the same. She shared an image post and disclosed that her treatment has begun, and she's trying to stay strong. In her words:
"Hello everyone, To address the recent rumours, I want to share some important news with all the Hinaholics and everyone who loves and cares for me. I have been diagnosed with Stage Three breast cancer. Despite this challenging diagnosis, I want to reassure everyone that I am doing well. I am strong, determined and truly committed to overcoming this disease. My treatment has already begun and I am ready to do everything necessary to emerge from this even stronger."

Furthermore, in the same interview, Karan shared his experience of reuniting with his old castmates, which included actors, Sonali Verma, Medha Jambotkar, Neha Saroopa Babani, Nidhi Uttam, and Ayush Viz. He disclosed that they had not met each other for a long time. Hence, they decided to meet up and spend some time together. In his words:
"We had been in touch over the phone, but hadn’t met physically for a long time. So, we decided to plan this reunion. The six of us used to go to dinners together and we could do that again after so long."
