Devoleena Bhattacharjee got married in a hush-hush wedding ceremony in Lonavala with Shanwaz Shaikh, who is her gym trainer. The couple had an intercaste marriage. They have dated each other for quite some time, and the actress always kept her relationship away from the media limelight, until she married him. The duo had an intercaste court marriage. Not many people know that Devoleena's brother, Andeep Bhattacharjee wasn't happy with her marriage and was against it.
On December 14, 2023, Devoleena took to her Instagram handle and shared glimpses of her first anniversary. The actress was decked up in a yellow-toned palazzo saree with kodi tassels on the blouse. On the other hand, Shanwaz was decked up in a black-toned shirt with matching pants. We can also see Devoleena's mother proudly posing with her daughter and son-in-law. The actress looked super happy to celebrate her first-year milestone with the people she loves.

Devoleena's brother, Andeep didn't attend her wedding celebration. However, with time, her brother accepted Devoleena's choices, and they are back to normal. During an interview with Free Press Journal, Devoleena shared that time heals everything, and siblings know how to deal with each other's anger, but they get back together in the end. She further added that she knows how to keep her relationship healthy.
When Devoleena's shared glimpses of her wedding pictures, her fans were confused, and they thought she was getting married to her Saath Nibhana Saathiya co-star, Vishal Singh. However, it was when Devoleena shared pictures of her wedding, that her fans got to see her Shanwaz. The bride looked gorgeous in a red lacey saree which she teamed with a full-sleeved sheer blouse. She styled her look with a red dupatta, which was embedded with the blessing, Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava. Devoleena's look was accentuated with a diamond neckpiece and a maang teeka.
