Fans claim that Shah Rukh Khan took an epic dig at his 'Darr' co-star, Sunny Deol after 20 years of their controversy. Here's what made them think so!
Bollywood actor, Shah Rukh Khan has been leading the headlines ever since the teaser of his upcoming film, Jawan, has released. Now, the actor's fans have been going gaga over his never-seen-before avatar, and they cannot contain their excitement to see the film. Well, now SRK's fans have dug out a dialogue of the actor from the film, and they are claiming that King Khan took a dig at Sunny Deol with the same.
Needless to say, every bit of Shah Rukh Khan in the teaser was just mind-blowing, and even the dialogues were at par. However, one dialogue that caught maximum attention is "Jab mai villain Banta hu toh mere saamne hero bhi nahi tikta". Recently, a Reddit user shared a picture of SRK and the same dialogue written atop it. The fan further hinted that this particular dialogue of King Khan is a jibe at his Darr co-star, Sunny Deol, wherein the latter played a hero while SRK was a villain. For the unversed, it all started with the film, Darr, starring Sunny Deol, Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla in the lead roles, wherein SRK played an antagonist and garnered a lot of love from the audience. Though Sunny Deol played the role of a dutiful husband, people loved Shah Rukh’s character of an obsessive lover more, which didn't go well with the former. The film was a major commercial success and was declared a blockbuster at the box office.

While Sunny Deol was one of the leading actors during that time, Shah Rukh Khan was still struggling to make a name for himself in the industry. Reportedly Sunny was given a choice to pick between the two characters, and he chose to be the protagonist. However, after the film’s release, he was shocked when Shah Rukh’s character got more prominence than him. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Sunny talked about the film’s success and said:
“At the end of the day, people loved me in the film. They loved Shah Rukh Khan as well. My only issue with the film was that I did not know they would glorify the villain. I always work in films with an open heart and believe the person.”
In the same interview, Sunny Deol also talked about his disappointment with the film's director, Yash Chopra and stated that he would never work with him again. For the unversed, after the film's release, Sunny Deol pledged to never work with Shah Rukh Khan and Yash Chopra again. Well, not just this, he didn’t even speak to SRK for 16 years. Speaking about the same, Sunny shared:
“I believe working with trust. Unfortunately, we have many actors and stars who don’t function in this manner. Maybe that’s the way they want to get their stardom. I’ll never work with Yash Chopra again. He isn’t a man of his words. I don’t have good memories of him, he betrayed my faith in him.”
