Digvijay Rathee shared he was somehow not surprised when his partner, Kashish Kapoor choose Rs. 10 lakhs and quit 'Splitsvilla X5' on finale.
Splitsvilla X5 ended on August 11, 2024 after months long journey to find its winner. But fans are unable to get over the twists that took place on the finale. The season which was hosted by Tanuj Virwani and Sunny Leone, was highly popular and fans enjoyed watching it. However, fans are unable to overcome one important happening on the finale. Before the finale task, Kashish Kapoor choose to take money and quit the show which eliminated her partner, Digvijay as well. Now, in a recent interview, the latter said how he wasn't surprised over her decision and respects it.
The makers of Splitsvilla X5 left no stone unturned from their end to make the show interesting for the viewers. Even just before the finale, Uorfi Javed and Munawar Faruqui entered the show with an tempting offer. As per their offer, finalists got an option to take away Rs. 10 lakh from the total prize money of Rs. 15 lakh for the winner and quit the game. Fans, contestants and even the host were left surprised when Kashish Kapoor choose money and left the show. Due to her decision, Digvijay Rathee was also eliminated before the finale task.
Digvijay was one of the most strongest contenders on the show and got a lot of attention for his game. In an interview with Pinkvilla, he revealed he wasn't surprised when Kashish chose money because he had a gut feeling about it. The influencer said Kashish's past actions were already an indication that she had a practical approach and wanted to secure her future. For unversed, after taking Rs. 10 lakh Kashish justified her action by saying she belonged to a middle-class family, and money was essential for her. He was quoted as saying:
“I had a gut feeling based on her previous actions and the way she approached the game. Kashish has always been practical and focused on securing her future, so it didn’t surprise me when she took the money. Sometimes you just know how someone will act based on their personality and priorities.”
In the same interview, Digvijay was asked whether he felt Kashish's actions to leave before the finale task was okay. In his reply, he said that it is easier to judge from the outside however, she made the decision she felt was right for herself. So, whether it was justified or not, he respects it. For the unversed, Kashish even formally apologised to Digvijay after the show. In Digvijay's words:
“I believe everyone’s circumstances are different, and Kashish made a decision that she felt was best for her at the moment. It’s easy to judge from the outside, but only she knows what motivated her choice. Whether it was justifiable or not is subjective, but I respect her decision.”
Digvijay added that he is overwhelmed from the love of his fans and feels good that so many people were able to connect with his journey on the show He shared that now his hashtag is trending on X and even his vlogs are trending on YouTube. The Influencer mentioned he feels a lot more responsible to stick with his values after getting more popularity and opportunities after Splitsvilla X5.
Although Digvijay was at the receiving end of love, Kashish got a lot of hate for her decision. Apart from a few fans who stood her her, everyone trolled and criticised for choosing money over the finale task and leaving Digvijay Rathee midway. After a lot of threats, Kashish revealed on August 21, 2024 that she had filed a legal complaint against the cyber bullying directed towards her. She shared a formal copy of the report on her IG handle.
