Dilip Kumar breathed his last on July 7, 2021, and his wife, Saira Banu took him to their home for the last time from the hospital.
The nation is devastated by the news of 98 years old, veteran actor, Dilip Kumar’s death. On June 29, 2021, Dilip Kumar was admitted to Hinduja Hospital after complaining of breathlessness. He was under observation in the ICU as he was admitted to the hospital for the second time within a month. It was reported that his condition was stable, however, the morning of July 7, 2021, brought a bad news for his family, friends and fans.
The veteran actor, Dilip Kumar breathed his last at Hinduja Hospital and Dr Jalil Parkar confirmed the same. Dilip Kumar’s family friend, Faisal Farooqui also announced the news of Dilip saab’s death. He tweeted, “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, a few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return. – Faisal Farooqui.”

Dilip Kumar’s funeral will take place in the evening and his wife, Saira Banu is taking him back to their home for the last time. Saira Banu is maintaining a brave face as she took her late husband, Dilip Kumar to their home for the last time and social media is abuzz with videos and pictures.
On July 6, 2021, Dilip Kumar's wife and actress, Saira Banu had shared an important update on the veteran actor's health on Twitter. Her tweet could be read as "We are grateful for God's infinite mercy on Dilip Shaib that his health is improving. We are still in hospital and request your prayers and duas so that Insha'Allah he is healthy and discharged soon. Saira Banu Khan." His friend, Faisal Farooqui had taken to Dilip Kumar's official Twitter handle and had delighted his massive fan base with the news of his discharge from the hospital. Farooqui had tweeted, "With your love and affection, and your prayers, Dilip Saab is going home from the hospital. God's infinite mercy and kindness through Drs. Gokhale, Parkar, Dr. Arun Shah and the entire team at Hinduja Khar. --Faisal Farooqui." For the unversed, Dilip Kumar was born in Peshawar, British India, to Ayesha Begum and Lala Ghulam Sarwar Khan. Earlier his name was Mohammaed Yusuf Khan and he had changed it to Dilip Kumar decades ago when actress, Devika Rani had asked him to. He had made his debut in the Hindi film industry with Jwar Bhata in 1944 and in 1949, he had created his niche in Bollywood with his breakthrough movie, Andaz, becoming the 'Tragedy King.' Dilip saab’s charming personality had captivated the hearts of millions in the '60s, and amongst his fans was Saira Banu. She was head-over-heels in love with him from the age of 12. Saira Banu was 22 when she got married to a 44-year-old Dilip Kumar. With an age gap of 22 years, the duo got married on October 11, 1966.
