Former Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh's demise has shocked the world and celebrities like Diljit Dosanjh, Madhuri Dixit, Sunny Deol, Nimrat Kaur and more mourned his death.
The demise of India's former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, shook the nation. He was the architect of India's economic reforms and the one who changed India's economic to unimaginable measures. The legend is survived by his wife and three daughters. Manmohan Singh died of age-related medical conditions on December 26, 2024 at, AIIMS in Delhi. Several B-town celebrities have mourned the loss of the legend as they pay their last tribute to the deceased.
Manmohan Singh was a legendary figure in Indian politics, and his economic knowledge was a source of respect for the masses, regardless of their political preference. Bollywood celebs took to their social media handles and shared their last heartfelt tribute to him and prayed to God for his soul's peaceful departure. Taking to his IG stories, Diljit Dosanjh shared a picture of Manmohan Singh and wrote "Oh Waheguru."
Madhuri Dixit and Nimrat Kaur also shared his picture on their Instagram stories and heaped praises about the legend. They hailed his economic capabilities and how he was an inspiration for many generations to come. Kapil Sharma and Sunny Deol tweeted about him, and even Randeep Hooda, Sanjay Dutt, Ritesh Deshmukh and many more mourned his death, a testament to the lasting impact he had on Indian politics.
Narendra Modi also took to his social media handle, X, and shared a heartfelt note on Manmohan Singh's death. Mr. Modi revealed how he was the most respected economist and served the country as a Finance Minister. His tweet can be read as:
"India mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished leaders, Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. Rising from humble origins, he rose to become a respected economist. He served in various government positions as well, including as Finance Minister, leaving a strong imprint on our economic policy over the years. His interventions in Parliament were also insightful. As our Prime Minister, he made extensive efforts to improve people’s lives."
For the unversed, Manmohan Singh was admitted to the AIIMS hospital in Delhi after his health condition deteriorated. It was Congress leader, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's husband, Robert Vadra expressed his condolences. He wrote in a post on X:
"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ji. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Thank you for your service to our Nation. You will always be remembered for your Economic revolution and the progressive changes, you brought to the country."
