Dimple Kapadia shares a special moment with son-in-law, Akshay Kumar as they arrive for Twinkle Khanna's latest book launch event.
Akshay Kumar is one of the most talented and successful actors in Bollywood. He is known for his good looks, excellent acting prowess and suave action moves that makes his fans skip a heartbeat. However, apart from his rock-solid charismatic personality visible in the public eye, he happens to be just like any other regular man in his personal life. For the unversed, Akshay is married to former actress, Twinkle Khanna, and the duo is blessed with two kids, Aarav and Nitara. When it comes to his personal life, Akshay leads a very low-key life with a lot of humility. And yet again, we got a proof of the same.
Recently, Twinkle Khanna published her latest book titled, Welcome To Paradise, and hosted a book launch event for the same on November 29, 2023. The event was a star-studded affair and saw the who’s who from the film industry join in. However, Twinkle being the lucky girl, got all the support from her hubby, Akshay Kumar and her mommy, Dimple Kapadia, who graced the event as the biggest cheerleaders of her. However, what caught everyone’s attention was the moment when the saas-damaad duo, Dimple and Akshay met one another. In the pictures that has been circulating all over the internet, we find the two of them sharing a hearty laugh together, as they posed for the paparazzi. Surely, their moment tells a lot about the kind of equation Akshay shares with his mother-in-law, Dimple.

In an earlier interaction with fashion designer, Masaba Gupta, Twinkle Khanna recalled her mother, Dimple Kapadia’s reaction to the former’s decision to get married to Akshay Kumar. She revealed that her mother openly advised her to live with Akshay for two years before tying the knot. Narrating Dimple Kapadia’s opinion, Twinkle said:
“When my husband said he wants to marry me, my mother said, nothing doing, you live together for two years. If you make it, then you get married."
Back during an earlier season of Koffee With Karan, Twinkle Khanna made a startling revelation when she recalled a moment when her mother, Dimple Kapadia, thought that Akshay Kumar was gay. At that time, Twinkle and Akshay were dating one another, and Dimple, after reading a gossip on the newspaper concluded that the actor was gay. Twinkle recalled:
“So, my mother and me are sitting together on the couch and he’s sitting opposite. My mother’s friend was there and he’s doing acupressure for her back or something. So my mother says, ‘I have to tell you something.’ So, I said tell me. ‘No, no after he goes.’ But when I insisted, she said that one of our friend was doing a piece on a gay newspaper says that Akshay is gay. So, I almost fainted.”

Earlier, during his stint on Koffee With Karan 4, Akshay Kumar gave a very startling yet witty answer during the rapid fire round. When the show’s host, Karan Johar asked to name a person with whom he would’ve gone on a date with, if he wasn’t married, Akshay without a skip took his mother-in-law, Dimple Kapadia’s name. Thereafter, he offered an explanation and mentioned that on their date, they would end up talking about his wife, Twinkle Khanna.
