Dino Morea recalls dealing with maddening female fan encounters, who simply gushed over his looks in the film, 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi'.
Dino Morea is one of the most good-looking actors in Bollywood, who has charmed his way across the hearts of millions of female fans. He single-handedly reigned the ‘90s and early 2000s as the OG romantic hero, who would be an epitome of every woman’s knight in shining armour. And recently, the actor walked down the memory lane and recalled some insane fan encounters he had post one of his releases.
In a recent interaction with Siddharth Kannan, Dino Morea walked back in time and recalled the immediate fame and stardom he received with his film, Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. The actor, who became no less than a national crush for his song, Mussu Mussu Haasi in the film, remarked a peculiar anecdote, and stated how the producer of the film, Shailendra Singh, advised him to change his name to Siddhant. Dino revealed that the producer wasn’t convinced with the kind of name he had, and tried hard to convince the actor to change it. He narrated:
“My producer wanted to change my name to Siddhant. ‘Yeh Dino kya hai? Dino Morea kaisa naam hai?’ I was like, ‘Everybody knows my name, why do you want to want to change my name?’ If I go out and introduce myself as Siddhanth, people will get confused. I was thinking of changing my name. They put it in my head. Then I finally said, ‘No, I am not changing my name.’ I was known as me.”

Moving forth in the conversation, Dino Morea narrated a most interesting part of the stardom he gathered after the release of his film, Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. The actor discussed the insane female fan encounters he had during the promotion of his film in various cities, where women would scratch him in order to pull him by the jacket. In his words:
“It was crazy during the promotions. There was madness. The songs were already out. We were these new bunch of kids, so there was a lot of curiosity. It was fresh, unlike other run-of-the-mill films of that time. I remember after a premiere in Kolkata, girls outside the theatre pulled my jacket. I had scratches on my body. I told myself, ‘Yeh alag tarah ka pagalpan hai’. I felt this for the first time. It was exhilarating. When I visited my hometown in Bengaluru after the film’s release, I witnessed madness there, too. It was magical.”
In the concluding segment of the interview, Dino mentioned that although the film wasn’t able to score well at the box-office, it nevertheless brought him immense fame and appreciation. However, despite it all, he wasn’t able to secure good offers in films thereafter, despite the initial craze it garnered. He further expressed:
“Yeh ek ajeeb industry hai? Following the film, no modelling offers were coming in. Wherever I went, I was going like actor-model. My price was different. I was making appearances and doing finales of shows. The excitement went to a different level. I felt great but I didn’t get any film offers immediately after the success of Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. I don’t know the reason behind this lull. The film didn’t work that well at the box office despite there being a lot of craze around the film. I was surprised, nothing was happening and no films were coming my way.”

Agree or not, Dino Morea still continues to be one of the most eligible bachelors in Tinseltown, and women still gush over his handsome looks and chiselled physique. The actor, who was previously in a well-known relationship with Bipasha Basu, is still happily a bachelor, at the age of 48. Previously, in an interview with ETimes, Dino teased about his plans of marriage and remarked how he thinks it might be the correct time for him to settle down. Nevertheless, he also shared how he is still waiting for his perfect partner.
