Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayan's 'Sita', Dipika Chikhlia firmly believes that Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi starring Nitesh Tiwari's directorial movie, 'Ramayana' should not be made.
Ramayana is undoubtedly one of the most talked about movies in recent times, owing to its grandeur and talented star cast. Nitesh Tiwari's directorial movie casts Sai Pallavi and Ranbir Kapoor in lead roles as 'Lord Ram' and 'Goddess Sita' along with South's superstar, Yash as 'Ravan'. The movie will be an adaption of the mythological epic, 'Ramayan', and is a trilogy. On April 2, 2024, Nitesh Tiwari began shooting with a grand puja, and the movie is currently in production.
Dipika Chikhlia is a popular name in the Indian entertainment industry. She achieved massive fame with her portrayal of the role of 'Sita' in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan. The series was a huge success, and people still heap praise on the mythological serial. In a recent interview with India Today, Dipika shared that she doesn't want Nitesh Tiwari to make the film, Ramayana.

Elaborating on her point, Dipika explained that whenever filmmakers decide to remake mythological epic, they tamper with the religious texts. Filmmakers try to add their creativity to make their movie better than the rest, which messes up with the original essence of Ramayan. In her words:
"Honestly, I am quite disillusioned by people who keep making Ramayan because I don't think you should be doing it. People are making a mess of it. I don't think people should be making Ramayan again and again because every time they make it, they want to bring in something new; a new story, a new angle, a new look."
Dipika even cited Adipurush's example to prove her point. She added that the filmmakers destroyed the originality of the epic because of their desire to do something different with their film. Dipika further explained:
"Like for Kriti Sanon, they gave her a pink coloured satin (saree in Adipurush). They gave Saif (Saif Ali Khan who played Ravana in Om Raut's film) a different look because they wanted to do something different, creatively. But then what you are doing is you're spoiling that whole impact of what Ramayan is all about."

This is not just a movie, but a trilogy. And the star cast's fees are equally impressive. Ranbiir Kapoor's fee of Rs. 75 crore per movie in the trilogy adds up to a total of Rs. 225 crore.
