Dulquer Salmaan and his wife, Amal Sufiya are one of the best celebrity couples of the South Indian film industry. The couple had gotten married on December 22, 2011, and was blessed with their first child, a baby girl, Maryam Ameerah Salmaan on May 5, 2017. While the two have been married for 9 years now, they never fail to give us major relationship goals. Dulquer has always stated that he found a best friend in his wife as she totally understands him. Well, Dulquer being a superstar, it is obvious that he would be having a strong female fan base. In an interview, Dulquer revealed whether his wife, Amal gets jealous of all the female attention.
In a recent interview with Deccan Chronicles, Dulquer was asked if his wife Amal gets insecure over all the female attention he gets from his fans on social media, to which he said, “No, not at all. Sometimes I also tell her to comment for me, but it’s like ghar ki murgi dal barabar (familiarity breeds contempt). However, my wife is very secure." Isn’t it a perfect example of being best friends first?
Dulquer also talked about his little princess Maryam, and how he loves to change her nappies. Like a doting father, Dulquer said, "While at home, I love to change the nappies of my daughter." Well, he is sure making the most of the lockdown phase as he is getting all the time to spend with his family, which he might have not got, had it not been for the pandemic.
In the same interview with Deccan Chronicles, Dulquer revealed that it was his friends and family who had suggested Amal's name to him, who also happened to be his former schoolmate. Later, even Dulquer started noticing her. In his words, "My friends and family suggested the name of one of my schoolmates who was five years my junior. My friends started matching her bio-data with mine. Now, it so happened that on most of my outings, I would notice the same girl there as well. Or at times when I decided to watch a movie, surprisingly, she would also be there watching that same movie and the same show. Since I was bumping into her often unknowingly, I somehow felt it could be some celestial sign that I should get married to her." Dulquer also revealed how he had managed to ask Amal for a coffee date and told his parents about her. He said, "I informed my parents about this girl. Both the families met and connected immediately. So I can say it is a love-cum-arranged marriage."
