Lip-smacking food, folk songs, beats of dhol and the entire family get together around the bonfire on a wintry night, a perfect way to sum up Punjab's favourite festival - Lohri. Every year on the 13th day of January, the festival is celebrated with pomp and pride. And it becomes extra special if there is a new member (be it a new bride or a child) in the family. The television queen, Ekta Kapoor is on cloud nine as she is not only seeing a great professional growth, but her personal life has also been turned into heaven, ever since she embraced motherhood. On January 27, 2019, Ekta got blessed with a baby boy via surrogacy and took on the journey of a single mother. Since then Ekta's life is revolving around her work, baby and family. One look at her Instagram feed and we can see that she is acing her role as a new mommy.
On January 13, 2020, Ekta took to her Instagram handle and shared a cute wish for her son, Ravie's first Lohri. She posted a picture with Ravie, wherein we can see her holding her baby. Alongside it, she wrote, "First lohri of ravioli ! Happie lohri". Take a look at it below:
For those who don't know, Ekta was waiting to take on the journey of motherhood for the past seven years and had tried various methods over the years, but nothing worked. In one of her Instagram posts, she had thanked her doctor, Nandita Palshetkar, who is an IVF specialist, and shared her quote. She has written, "Thank you doctor Nandita it’s been a 7-year journey! By God's grace, I have seen many successes in my life, but nothing beats the feeling of this beautiful soul being added in my world. I cannot even begin to express how happy my baby's birth has made me. Everything in life doesn't go the way you want it to but there are always solutions to those hiccups. I found mine and today I feel immensely blessed to become a parent. It is an emotional moment for me and my family and I can't wait to begin this new journey of being a mother to my little bundle of joy, Ravie Kapoor."
In an interview with Anupama Chopra, Ekta had shared how she felt when she came to know about her surrogate's pregnancy. She had said, "When I knew that the surrogate had conceived, and it was on June 7. On my birthday I got to know. I was a bit overwhelmed. I was like 'Okay this is happening. This is going to be a huge responsibility. I just wrote a show out which is going to be with an A-list Bollywood actress. It's called Mentalhood. It's about motherhood and every time we did the scripting about the Momzillas and the pressure you go through, the guilt you go through, tiger moms, helicopter moms, I was constantly feeling overwhelmed. In an interview with The Times of India, Ekta had revealed that she takes her baby along with her to work. She had said, "Being a working mother, one has to manage things. I checked his chart and got to know that he has a high temper. People think am short-tempered, but he is the one."
