Barkha Bisht recalled one of the stressful phases of her career when she got indulged with Ekta Kapoor in a legal tussle, and the latter even sued her.
Barkha Bisht is a well-known face in the entertainment world. The actress works predominantly in television, and she's also a part of Hindi and Bengali movies. Barkha made her debut with Balaji Telefilms produced Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi, wherein she played the role of 'Udita'. In 2010, she stepped into Bollywood with the movie, Raajneeti and in Tollywood with the film, Dui Prithibi. Well, Barkha recently sat for an interview and recalled a stressful chapter of her career when her career could have been ended, that too, by Ekta Kapoor.
Barkha Bisht recently sat for an interview with Siddharth Kannan, wherein she talked about a tough phase of her career back when she was only at the beginner's level. Barkha mentioned that after she quit Balaji Telefilms, producer, Ekta Kapoor ended up suing her. Back then, the actress was already dealing with a lot with her struggle to prove herself to her father and more. Barkha was only 23 then, and it came as a stress with the legal notices.
In the interview, Barkha said that she told no one about this in her family and then she hired a lawyer and fought the case for over a year, and she continued with her professional life and attending hearings on a regular basis. Barkha said that over time, Ekta understood that it was pointless, and she backed off. The actress called herself grateful as Ekta chose to back off since she has the power to break anyone's career. Barkha can be quoted as saying:
“I didn’t tell anyone at home; I hired a lawyer and fought the case. Over time, she realised it was pointless, and I’m grateful that she backed off. At that time, Ektaa had the power to make or break your career—even today, she does. The case went on for about a year, and I continued shooting for my new show while also attending court hearings."
In the same interview, Barkha Bisht stated that she could complain about the same to his family or talk about it since she has fought with them over shifting to Mumbai. Barkha stated that she had this pride that whatever she would do it would be done only by herself, so she had to handle it all by herself. She also stated that as she was a newcomer back then, her career could have ended if Ekta Kapoor wouldn't back out. In Barkha's words:
"I had come with the pride of ‘jo bhi karungi, khud karungi.’ So, I had to handle it myself. As a newcomer, my career could have ended, but by some divine power, Ektaa backed out. If she had wanted to, she could have ended my career."
Barkha Bisht and Indraneil Sengupta were married for 15 years before they called it quits. It was in 2008 when they got married, and it was in 2022 when they got separated. While in the beginning, Barkha and Indraneil never shared the reason for their separation, the actress, in a recent interview, said that it was the actor's decision to move out of the marriage. She also talked about being cheated on and still trying to mend things after that, only to witness the opposite person give up on the marriage.
