According to reports, the talented producer-cum-director, Ektaa Kapoor's unmarried status is related to one of her decisions when asked about some choices by her father, Jeetendra.
Ektaa Kapoor is one of the well-known producer-cum-directors in the industry. Over the years, she has made a niche for herself with her passion and immense dedication to her work. She has made some of the most-watched family dramas in the Indian television industry. However, she is still unmarried, even at the age of 48, and it was on January 27, 2019, when she welcomed her son, Ravie, into her life via surrogacy.
Coming to her unmarried status, if reports are to be believed, Ektaa Kapoor wished to get married at the mere age of 15. However, things took a completely different turn, and now, she is a happy single mother. According to a report in News18, the talented producer-cum-director had once revealed the reason behind her single status in an interview with a leading media portal.

Ektaa mentioned that her decision to remain unmarried was based on advice given to her by her father, Jeetendra, during her younger years. She mentioned that Jeetendra asked her to choose between two options—one that she could get married early and enjoy her life by partying as much as she wanted and the other one was that she could work with utmost dedication. The doting daughter opted to work and remain unmarried.
Earlier, during the music launch of Char Din Ki Chaandni, in an interview with IANS, Jeetendra was asked about his daughter's marriage. To this, the doting daddy immediately started heaping praises on her and mentioned how Ektaa has the ability to take immense pressure and work. And the veteran actor also mentioned that despite her privileges, she has chosen to work hard. However, he further mentioned that everyone comes with their own fate. Thus, according to him, Ektaa would get married only when she would become mentally free. Asking others to pray with him for the day to come soon in Ekta's life, Jeetendra said:
"Ektaa is a total product of passion and hard work. She has tremendous amount of capacity to work hard which I don't see in others. I come from a middle class family. I had to work hard but for Ektaa she didn't have to struggle. But she still struggled because Ektaa had the passion. She could have taken her life lightly also but she didn't choose that path. I feel if you have talent then nobody can stop you. No matter how much you push you don't get anything. Every person comes with his own fate, hard work and talent and he achieves only with that. We have to be very happy with what god gives us. Everybody pray with me for that. Once Ektaa gets mentally free then she can think about it which every dad wishes for."
In yet another interview, Ektaa had talked about love and marriage in her life. She revealed how like many other parents, Jeetendra and his wife, Shobha also wanted to see their daughter get married. However, the producer mentioned that she was extremely busy with work at that moment and also praised those women who manage both their personal and professional lives together. Ektaa shared:
“My parents want me to but I don’t know if I am ready. I am too busy. So, I have huge respect for women who manage both the home and their work. It’s superb multitasking, kudos to them. At this present moment, I have to take out time for a work-out. At 1’o clock, I am going for a walk. I need to plan my life first.”

In the same conversation, Ektaa had also explained how after seeing multiple divorces in her friends' circle, she is immensely happy with her decision of not getting married. She thanked god for being a patient decision-maker and that she could understand her preference to be a mother and not a wife early in her life. Further, revealing what all she would do, if she gets more time in her daily schedule, she added:
“All my friends, who were married are now unmarried. With the number of divorces I have seen recently, I think I am the more patient one. At least, I waited for it. I definitely know one thing, that I want a child but marriage, I don’t know. I don’t have time for myself, if I get a couple of hours, I would like to go to a spa. I look forward to a one-day vacation with friends. I love my work, so I don’t crib. People tell me to give it up if you have such a problem with it. I won’t, I would get so bored. I’d rather be busy than bored.”
