Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat have been among the most loved pairs in Bollywood. They did a film together, Murder that became one of the most popular films in the early 2000s. However, the two actors didn't share a good bond off-screen. The rumours of their conflict were confirmed when the two began taking public digs at each other off-screen.
Emraan Hashmi achieved a breakthrough in his career with Murder, and the fans admired his scintillating chemistry with Mallika. However, their public fallout soon hit the headlines, becoming one of the biggest controversies of that time. Emraan talked about it in a recent interview with News 18 Showsha. He said that their feud was due to their impulsiveness in youth. The Tiger 3 actor said that both of them said mean things. However, they have moved over it. He was quoted as saying:
"We were young and stupid at that time. You go through a phase in your life when your decision making power is so limited and you're just so impulsive. Some mean things were said by her and some by me. But those are all bygones."

Before Emraan, Mallika addressed their feud in Mandira Bedi's The Love Laugh Live Show. She was asked during the show about their fallout and accepted that their 20-year-old fight was 'childish.'
In April 2024, Emraan and Mallika were seen greeting and hugging each other at a wedding reception. Reflecting, about it in his chat, Emraam opened up about the event and said it was a cordial meeting with Mallika. At the same time, he recalled saying they hadn't met like that in a long time, and he would like to work with Mallika Sherawat again.
In April, Murder clocked 20 years. In the same month, the duo attended the wedding reception of film producer, Anand Pandit's daughter. They were seen talking and hugging each other, indicating they had forgotten the feud. It made their fans want to see them together on-screen again. Mallika looked gorgeous in a flowy pink dress and light makeup, while Emraan looked dapper in a classic black suit and white shirt. The two posed for the paparazzi, and their pictures went viral quickly.

On the work front, Emraan was a part of the big-budget film, Tiger 3, co-starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
