Emraan Hashmi's Sassy Reason For Not Liking SRK's B'Day Bash: 'I Don't Drink, Didn't Stay Beyond 12'

Emraan Hashmi talked about his dislike for attending parties in Bollywood and shared his experience of attending Shah Rukh Khan's birthday bash.

Currently, Emraan is soaking in all the praise for his antagonistic performance in the film, Tiger 3, alongside Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. And recently, the actor opened up on his dislike for attending events and parties in Bollywood.

In an interview with Zoom Entertainment, Emraan Hashmi talked about keeping a low-profile beyond his work on-screen. He expressed that he feels stars should maintain a certain allure of their personality, such that their films work. Moreover, he also highlighted his dislike for attending parties and events in Bollywood, and added that even while attending Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday recently, he was one of the first ones to leave. Sharing how he doesn’t indulge in drinking at parties, Emraan shared:

“I didn’t stay beyond 12, because I get up at 6:30, 7 in the morning. I was never a big fan of parties. I don’t know why. They just don’t do anything for me. I don’t drink, therein lies the biggest problem. And I don’t make film industry small talk. The last thing I want to do is talk shop after pack-up.”

Emraan reveals why he doesn’t attend film screenings and premiers

In the same interaction, Emraan Hashmi also revealed that he doesn’t often turn up at film screenings and premiere shows, be it his own one or when invited by  others. Without mincing his words, the actor expressed that if he doesn’t really like a film, he can straight-facedly voice his opinion. In his words:

“I don’t attend because you’re obliged to come out and praise. I can’t if I don’t like it. It’s not like I go in to hate a film, what if I don’t? I can’t lie about it. It shows on my face. No malice intended.”

When Emraan spoke about feeling insecure in the film industry

In a previous interaction with Filmfare, Emraan Hashmi had retrospected his film career so far and revealed if at any point, he felt insecure about his contemporaries. The actor mentioned that he has considered the Hindi film industry as a vast space where everyone is welcome to come and experiment. Moreover, he expressed his interest in learning everything new, which has never ceased.
