Esha Deol in a recent interview talked about her mother, Hema Malini's reaction on seeing her wear bikini for her films.
Hema Malini and Dharmendra's daughter, Esha Deol, has been in the headlines for some time now. The actress announced her separation from her hubby, Bharat Takhtani, after 12 years of marriage. Since then, Esha has been in the news for one reason or another, be it her comeback in films or opting for cosmetic procedures to enhance her beauty. This time, the diva talked about her mother's stance over her wearing revealing clothes in films.
Esha Deol recently sat for an interview with Filmygyaan, during which the host asked her about her mother, Hema Malini's reaction to her wearing bikinis in films. Esha revealed that her mother had no reaction to this, as she is very broad-minded. Esha added that before wearing a bikini on-screen, she went on holidays with her friends and had worn a bikini several times.
Esha Deal added that her mother, Hema Malini, finds nothing wrong with wearing sultry clothes in reel and real life. This clearly shows how cool and unconventional Hema Malini is.
While Hema Malina is liberal, Esha's father, Dharmendra is quote the opposite. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Esha Deol shared the reason behind her father, Dharmendra's initial reluctance to see her as a leading lady in Bollywood. Despite her desire to enter the film industry, Esha found it challenging to persuade her father. She attributed his protective stance to his gender, but her own aspirations were not to be deterred. Esha's determination to spread her wings was evident in her words:
"My dad. Not because of anything else, but because he is more protective as a male, and he wanted to keep us more private. I was, on the other hand, all excited and ready to fly."
In an old interview, Esha Deol went to Simi Garewal's talk show with her mother, Hema Malini. In there, Hema Malini revealed that Dharmendra would like their daughters, Esha and Ahana, to dress up in salwar kameez. She further shared that their daughters deck themselves up in salwar kameez whenever their father comes home. Hema's daughter also joined the interview, and in the edited video, Esha talked about her decision to join films. The then-young Esha revealed she would make Dharmendra accept it slowly. Otherwise, he would get angry.
